You seem like such a resource that I'm going to try U anyway...
I'm talking to a guy about his Pile of Honda Parts (easy-nonVFR as far as I know). and he has 2 frames. How do I get the model/ year from the No. (looked @ vfrpedia). I know it's digits 4-8 for model and 10 for year but this is what I've got:
    1HFSC120EXA109124
    -digits extracted
    mod.--SC120
    yr. --X

    1HFSC1709EA002198
    -digits extracted
    mod.--SC170
    yr.--E

VFRpedia doesn't seem to cover these
AND guess carfax isn't for motorcycles, says no. too short

1HF - HONDA, Motorcycle, Manufactured in USA
    SC120/SC170 - Model
Next numeric character is a "check digit" (E/9)
    X year = 1999
    E year = 1984

I am guessing that these are Shadow frames, but I could be wrong.

PS: I was able to run the 2nd one on Motoverse and it came back as a 84 VF1100S

Anyone have tips for getting same info on the top VIN?
Anyone been able to get state patrol to run a VIN without physically taking it in?

I'd double check the other one - I was surprised that these were frames that were 15 years apart...
