I'm considering fitting heated grips to my 98 VFR. I'd like to fit Oxford Hot Grips as they boast a quite small electrical draw, a switch for adjustable heat and Oxford tend to make decent kit. The problem I have is that my bars measure 25mm and the grips state that they are to fit bars that are 22mm in diameter. Has anyone tried them out and are they malleable enough to stretch onto the bars?

    Nope

They certainly are not malleable, since they have a hard centre core. Mine came with an adaptor for snowmobile/quad use which may have been 22mm (since the throttle isn't the same as a bike), however the grips themselves are a tight fit. Either you have been shown a specific set for that size of bars, or you have been misled/ misread the blurb.

    hot grips

Thanks guy. I would have gone ahead and bought them and hoped for the best. This way, you've saved me £50. Thanks again.
