hi, my name is yaron and i ride a 2006 vfr . my problem is the high idle reving - around 1500 and more. is it supposed to be that high? and if not what can be done and how? i'm sorry to say that my local honda mechanic doesn't know what to do

First, your mechanic is an idiot. Second, mine came from the factory with the same idle revs. It is easy to adjust. One the right side toward the rear on top of the engine casing is a small black nob attached to a cable. This is the idle adjust nob. You can rotate it to set the idle. Mine is very stiff so it takes a bit of effort to move it, presumably to stop it adjusting itself. I have mine set at 1200rpm. If I remember correctly the manual says 1100 but I am happy with 1200.
