My winter mods on my 2000 Yellow VFR bought early last fall w/9500 miles on the clock are as follows.....

-New chain/sprockets (up 2 teeth in rear......really, really like a lot)
    -new plugs
    -K&N air filter
    -Fresh oil & filter
-Zero Gravity double bubble (really like)
-Raised fork 2mm in triple clamp (really like)
-Pro Grip dual density grips (yellow accents, just like)
    -Vesrah brake pads all around
-Seat back fairing cut to fit w/grab rails on
-Michelin Pilot Roads (just broke in and really, really, like too)
-Cleaned and polished all those spots that need cleaned and polished
-Holeshot slip on exhaust (really, really like a lot)

This will be a great commuter/short sport touring bike and it's perfect for a 43year old Daddy w/bad shoulders. The Buell is relegated to the track where it is happiest (and perfectly at home for a 43 year old Daddy w/bad shoulders). I had a Y2K VFR before, but sold it and kept my Ducati 748S as a new Daddy. As an older and wiser Daddy, I have one again and will keep it a while (Ducati's been gone a while). This is a great bike for it's intended purpose and about the only thing I would want to replace it with is a 2007 Red, White, & Blue edition only due to the paint (I wanted a VF500F really, really bad in college, but couldn't afford one....had an FT500 Ascot instead). Ride safe all.
