Has anyone removed the cats from the 2000 or 2001 VFR's? Would I loose power or mess up the timing or fuel injection? Thanks
Ditching the cat is a popular mod - typically the combination is lose the cat, add a slip-on, aftermarket air filter and Power Commander 3, and then get a custom map. --Of course all this is "off road purposes only" Oh - I'm dense - lots of people go to a 98-99 stock header or an aftermarket is MOTAD. Even 6th gen guy like to go that way. To your question - no timing effects and your Ok on fuel injection, but you will want a PC3. MD
cool...I found a 2001 VFR that I NEED! but just wanted to get rid of cat and put on an after market exhaust. I will check out the pc3 you suggest. Thanks -David
David; I pretty much agree with the Mello one. I gutted the cat. converter on my 00. I didn't buy a 99 exaust or an aftermarket system, I put all the stock stuff back on. I think the mod. helps, seems to pull harder in the top end. Be patient with this job,it aint a 15 minute deal, but I think its worth it! eddie
