I was browsing around in the photo gallery the other day looking for some new paint schemes for my bike and I could have swore (sorry) that I'd seen a black VFR with flamed wings. The Honda wings were made out of flames!? Was I imagining this? Where can I get those? Who's bike was that?

I've seen the flame job too. I'm thinking its a custom paint job. Sure looks "cool".

Hello everyone, I am the owner of the Black 02 VFR with the airbrushed " Flame Wing ". I live in Canada but my wife is an American so we travel back and forth often visiting family and friends. Her son has a friend who does most excellent airbrushing...I first saw the airbrushed flame effect on her son's mailbox! I thought...that might look cool done in the Honda wing logo on my bike. He lives near Washington south west of Pittsburgh. If anyone would like to contact him let me know and I'll ask him if it is ok to give his email address. Have a great riding season everyone! Patrick

    Too Crazy

    Hello Patrick
I was at MotoSport Plus yesterday and saw your bike in the service depatrment. I was absolutley impressed with both the "wings" and the pipes. I'm a fan of "stock" so I don't make too many comments good or bad on "mods". Yours however deserve an A+. What a beatiful bike. I believe that the effect in real life is far and away more pleasing than photos. The bike is georgeous. I had to do a triple take to register what I was seeing. I'm in the Mallorytown area so may see you on the road. I ride a silver 2002 with factory bags. Stock.

Dude, I'd like to thank you!!

Dude, I'd like to thank you for replying! (That's it, you guys will have my membership fees on the next pay period.) I live in the Washington DC area. I'd love to have your sons' friend do some one of a kind paint work on my bike. By the way, you're bike is the sh&t with or without those flames.

Webbfire where did you get the original Honda wing logo that was on the bike before you had it airbrushed. Is it a decal or was it painted on as well? The plain wing looks rather tasteful and the flamed wing just looks mean on a black bike!

Gryphon, I will ask the guy if it is ok to give his email here and post asap if he is ok with that. 2K2 I will watch for you out there! VsVFR, the original silver and then gold wings were indeed decals. I went online and found the wing logo, downloaded the image onto a medis stick and took that to 3M Trimline and they produced the decal and applied it to the fairing...I think it was about $100. I liked both the silver and gold but felt the gold looked better with the nickel plated cans. I had taken my bike in for the wiring harness recall as well as to have the rear wave rotor installed. I could not believe how much heavier the stock rotor was compared to the Galfer wave rotor. I think with the aftermarket pieces I have installed over the years I have lightened the bike by 15-17 pounds! I would love to be out riding today but I see a load of mulch and topsoil has been dropped on the front lawn so I know what I'll be doing for the next couple days...Happy riding everyone!
