front and back for my 02 VFR. Decided to order the correct sockets for them instead of baking/cutting the backing plate for the rear combo....but as far as bulbs go, I'm having one helluva time. Seems that no in town here has the 7443 bulbs in amber. Even the dealer cant supply them.
Ebay just has LED's but all I want is stock turn signal bulbs for an 06-07 VFR.
Is that too much to ask?

    *Sigh* Any ideas out there?

Yah, these guys. (ignore the hokey website, they're legit)
    http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm

That's the link to all their 7443 bulbs. He's got some pretty slick shiny bulbs, which look great when the bike is off.

    You have another problem if you're switching to the Clear lenses. You already found out the sockets are different as well as the bulbs (2 position instead of 3). The socket plugs on the harness are ALSO different. The New sockets will NOT plug into your old harness. The biggest reason is Honda Changed the 06-Newer harness and removed the running light portion of the front turn signals and for some stupid reason they felt like changing the harness. They are no longer, Turn & Run, but Turn ONLY. I work at a Honda Bike Dealership and have already put qite a bit of time into this. By far the EASIEST & CHEAPEST way to switch to the clear lens is to buy Only the blinker housings (fronts) and remove just the clear lens and install on your old blinker housing base. They are NOT glued on and simply pop off with just 3 tabs. Use the new seal...This way you retain your original sockets, Harness & Turn signal base (Everything fits perfectly). You then just need to find Amber dual filament bulbs (good luck). I used Amber L.E.D's because no one in town had the bulbs either. I haven't made it around to the Rear Taillight yet, but I THINK that the rear tail light lens removes from the base the same as the front does. If the lens is not removable, you'll need (2) new sockets for the turn signals (the brake sockets are the same as earlier models) and you'll have to splice them into your harness. I included the part numbers you will need below to perform the switch to Clear lens for the turn signals (the Tail light is still Red). Good Luck and feel free to contact me with any questions. Honda Part Numbers need are;
    1.) Front Lenses: 33410-MCW-K01 & 33460-MCW-K01
    2.) Tail light Lens: 33710-MCW-H01
3.) Sockets (Amber): 33303-SAA-003 if needed for rear, order (2)
4.) Amber Wedge bulbs (single filament for rear/dual filament for front)

Thanx Jeff....as I mentioned, I already have all the lenses. I have switched the backing plates for the front already, just thought if I could utilize the new backing plate as it has a shiny chrome piece inside instead of the old one which looks to be a dull silver.

So the plug end on the wiring harness wont fit into the new sockets? Dammmmm.
Well I can still put the old backing onto the new front lenses and maybe get a buddy of mine (autobody shop) to swap the backing off the rear. I dont want to attempt this and break the new lens as it cost a littttttle too much $$$.

I better let my dealer know as he's ordering 4 of the sockets in this week.

    CLear Lens for VFR

I taped off & re-sprayed my backing plates with Automotive "Chrome" spray paint. Not near the chrome finish of the New Lenses backers, but better than the older Amber lenses satin silver backing plate. I think they went to the chromed backing plate to aid the reflecting of the amber bulb/clear lens combo (as opposed to clear bulb/amber lens which shows less). Made it look beeter than Original. Just a tip...

Thanks again must be a bit slow re read post its the new lens from 06 (clear) that wont fit the wiring harness of pre 06. I'm going to order bulbs first and try them then maybe go for new lenses. i think clear lenses would be a good improvement on a silver bike

Well, I gave the lenses to my buddy at the bodyshop and he came up with a good idea. Instead of heating up the lenses and risk breaking the tabs/lens etc., why not alter the holes for the old sockets to fit? He says it wont be 100% but it'll be easier than swapping lenses and it'll be a little faster for him.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out, I'm picking it up tomorrow a.m.

Picked up the lenses, modifying the socket holes worked like a charm.
Now to put it together and patiently wait for the LED's.......

*EDIT* Aghhh.....just rec'd the LED's and the flasher this a.m. Excellent job to Custom Dynamics. Ordered Monday afternoon and its only Thursday. USPS rocks!
