Well last week as I was riding back home after work my chain started making weird noises and kinda "pulling" the bike to a stop when I put the clutch in... The old chain was a basic one with no o-rings. The previous owner put it on and I have been trying to clean it, lube it etc. as I have been riding it. But alas, I was not able to save it.

I went to honda, they wanted $155 for a 530#-120 chain and would not cut it down to length for me. They wanted $165 for a DID chain the right length.... So I went to a Kawasaki delaler that also sells BMW's, KTM's and Honda's. I picked up a DID o-ring chain for $92 out the door AND they cut it for free.

I put that bad boy on this past saturday and OMFG! what a change! the bike is soooo smooth on the power delivery now, I was not expecting the chain to make this big of a change it the way the bike feels. It may be that I went from a standard chain to the original o-ring type....

Congratulations on the chain replacement! I did that too a week ago but it was a pain in the butt because I bought a chain breaking/riveting tool that was just a little too small for the chain. I ended up borrowing my friend's Dremel tool to cut down the tool so that it would work with the chain.

In case you haven't heard of Maxima Chain Wax I really recommend the product. The problem with chain lubes is they fling off, making a mess and you have to keep lubing it all the time. But with chain wax it doesn't fling off as much.

I agree with you on the Maxima Chain Wax. I've been using it since I bought the bike new, and it works great. Very, very, very little fling off. I usually only notice it on the center stand.

I will definity pick some up. Do you use that after the lube? I have been using Belray till now and have been thinking about switching to a clear lube....

Not 100% sure what you mean..."after the lube". I don't use any other lube on the chain, just the Maxima Chain Wax.

Apply chain wax after you ride, when the chain is hot. This will allow the wax to thin out and get in all the hard to reach areas.
