I'm looking at getting a new exhaust for my 1998 VFR800 5thgen. I'm looking for suggestions on pipes that have a nice deep throaty tone/growl...maybe even roar lol.

I do NOT like the raspy inline 4 pipe sound.

I've been looking at getting a Laser Hotcam DS pretty much. Staintune would probably be the other one i've looked at the most. Any other suggestions for a sound like these would be great or if you have comments or links to video/audio samples I would really appreciate it. It would definitely be nice if the pipe added some performance too.

Also, any advice on what finish to go with? I thought the carbon fiber would look sharp, but heard that it can deteriorate over time due to the heat? I'm not too concerned about pipe material but whatever gives the v4 the mini V8 rumble/roar like with the pipes off would be great. Thanks.

I really like my Holeshot slip on. I wrote up a thorough review in the exhaust section. Look in my photo gallery for pics. Good value, great sound, and nice fit. Ride safe. Good luck with flight school.
