Can't recall which non-Honda manual I have (Clymer I think) but it lists the rear axle nut torque (big single nut) at about 147 ft lbs and the wheel nuts at only 25 ft. lbs. My TSX nuts (Honda, same profile and size) spec 80 ft. lbs. in the manual and the axle nut came off with very moderate hand pressure, not 147 ft. lbs when disassembling.

Can someone confirm (in particular) the correct tightening torque for the rear wheel lugs as well as the axle nut? I'm eager to get it back together and see how it rides with the eccentric flipped for some more rear ride height.

    The bike is a 3G, 1993.

    Thanks.

    Steve

From the Honda factory service manual:

141 ft/lbs. for the axle nut.

80 ft/lbs for the lug nuts.

Thanks!! That confirms what 'felt' right when I was working on it tonight, which was that the axle nut was fine with the spec'd torque (it was also 141 in the Clymer, not 147) and was just loading up well at the click (thank God that it had a lock ring properly peened on it before), and that the wheel bolts were not even beginning to seat properly at 25. I'll tighten them properly immediately.

    Thanks again,
