I have an 02 and just did some mods. I have a TwoBrother carbin on and I just took off the header system and took a plasma cutter to the bottom side of the cat. It was not that hard, but these cats are not like they used to be. they are just steel honeycomb tubes inside. I did notice a gain in rpm rev. It also took way the little hesatation at 4 to 5 grand at quarter throtal:smile: But I just could not hear my bike that well so I took the packing out off the pipe. Now it sound like a midgett at the roundy rounds on a saturday night.
Now that I can hear it. I was able to go to my first track day a infinion raceway. It was a blast I will be doing my next track day at thunderhill this next monday. I did find these short bus stop corners at the track that 1st was to high and 2nd gear I was waiting to long for the vtec to come on. to fix that I went from a stk 16 tooth to a 15. This brought the ratio from 2.68to 2.87. I think that this is an easy way to get more uahpppp for about $25
I am also using corsa 3s and love them. they grip well. I also ride this bike to work eveyday. Now I am not avery good rider, but i am trying to emprove on the railling!!!!:first: I felt pretty good for my first time at the track. I was able to scrap my right peg once. I think I will have to take the peg feelers off soon before i get into deep and slide out. Last but not least. Would like to know about pc3s and if they would benefit my little mods. thank for reading and any comments are great.

getting out to the track will definitely improve your skillz. But I must say, that the everyday commute to work is a little stressful sometimes too. Got to keep your reflexes up. I would love to get out on the track. I feel like I'd be more relaxed than running around with a bunch of cagers.

So do you like the sound without the cat and the gutted pipes. I have devil carbon magnums, and they aren't loud, but they sound very very nice. Deep.

I also would like to find out if anyone knows how to make the VTec kick in at a lower RPM. If it came in at 4 or 5 thousand, I would ahve a much more enjoyable ride.

    two Brothers sound

I would have to say that any gen 6 will not be loud. I really liked the way it sounded with just the slip on,but when I gutted the cat it gave it a little more hollow sound. I did not like it at first. But when I took out the packing it really had a hollow sound and when I hit the vtec I had to go home and jump on my wife. I really love it now. It is not over powering when you are crusien on the freeway. If you wear earplugs and your raillen you can hear it just fine. If the bike was still carbed it would sound like a gen 5 nice and loud. however for the regular rider I would recommed my pipe. I like it because it gets away from that wierd bend that the left side gets under the seat. I think that the stock pipes are a joke with that smashed spagitte pipe under the seat.
As for the vtec coming on sooner It has to do with the oil presure spring and the timing. They go hand and hand. I dont know if you messed with the spring maybe by taking it out and putting one in with less tention would work for a lower vtec engauge. It would be nice if someone with some know how could get back to us. Thanks for the reply!
