    Hey there dizzy!
"You will be testing the engines harness side", I thought I had to test the alternator side of the damned thing. Maybe I`m just beeing stupid but I need to hear this again in detail. Anyway the old stator is out. Looks okey to me. (Looks are not all I know). A little oil as there should be (?).
Tested the three yellow ones with motor running. Only a very small voltage (0,6) in the beginning then nothing. When you get these weird results you start to wonder about the multimeter!! Been on the phone all day to people in Norway selling MC-parts and there are a few. Able to get a "new" stator for 1690 NKr that is about 340 dollars. A local dealer offered me one (Honda original) for 6000nkr and he should have 10.000 for a valve inspection and shim replacement. Must be kidding:rolleyes:
Well, well you learn as you go along, and as another wise man said; Experience often is the result of bad judgement. So we`ll see (someday), greetings

    OK! A summary;
    1) Ricks ships overseas (Takes over a week)
    2) The stator performed ok after a claenup and inspection (when properly tested) Up to > 90 V AC at 5000rpm+
    3) No leak at the poles (good grounding - yeah I know the black wire (why o why didnt I take the blue pill))
    4) So basically were back to the R/R (you were right Bubba!)
    5) All of my wiring seems fine
Hope to be back on the road as soon as the post arrives!

    Thanks all!
PS: I may have ordered a stator  (hope they haven`t sent it!) (a little late in cancelling) so if YOU want maybe I can ship It??
The weather forecast is good :smow:
    Thanks for all help guys.

    Learning by doing (wrong)!

Hope its fixed...by the way, autoeb...I meant the part of the harness that comes from the engine, or alternator. Sorry for the confusion.

    Back on the road again!

    HI!
Just a small notice to tell you that after changing the RR and the battery I`m back on track and everything seems to be functioning fine. I think I could have gotten away with just the RR (so now I have two batteries which is ok).
By the way; when testing the stator be sure to test it in ACV not in DCV (which got me some strange results  )
    Thanks all!:thumb: :hand:

Glad to hear you are on the road again, auto. Now you just need to get a little volt meter to put on the bike. Kuryakyn makes one that is small and has re, yellow, and green led's in it. I had one on an old Yamaha and on my VFR. They work great and are easy to see night or day. When I put the one on my VFR, i was alerted early to charging troubles. I highly recommend one. They also come in black or chrome. :thumb: Here is an pic of one, it's not the best pic either. It shows the LED's and if you look clost you can see the numbers below the LED's.
