Well, I'm finally able to get out and ride bot I've got a little glitch in my VTEC. It runs perfect but when the temperature getsover 120 it develops a knock until it hitsaround 170 then it goes away. I'm thinking it sounds like a valve out of adjustment but the bike only has13,000 miles on it. Since this is my first time on a vfr I thought i'd better get an expert opinion which is fairly easy to achieve on this site, HUGE knowledge pool here, met some great people . Any advice would be appreciated as our dealer here hasn't even done a valve adjust on a VTEC yet, I would hate to have to be the guinea pig.
I also have to tell ya, before i bought this bike I did a huge amount of research and this site really helped my decision about buying one, man this is by far one of the nicest rides I've ever had, I can ride all day and not hurt, can't wait til I get my heli's and pazzos installed!!!!!!!!!:first:

Not sure a valve would develop a noise inside a narrow temperature range only??

I agree with squirrelman. Here is some info that may be helpful. The VTEC valves do not start working until the bike reaches a temp of 151 degrees. Also, VFR's are due for a valve adjustment at about 15,000 miles. Most people claim that their valves are not out of adjustment by then but it is good to make sure. This procedure can be a little high due to the VTEC. I found that lots of dealerships quoted me different prices some twice as expensive as others.
