I feel totally cheated when I ride my VFR. I desperately desire to hear the motor over wind noise, traffic, unnecessarily large diesel pickups, etc. I find myself accelerating quickly for no apparent reason or stringing gears out just so I can hear the spectacular symphony of VTEC orchestrated cylinders.

Seriously, our bikes have a great sound under acceleration. Just cruising around town, it sounds like a mini V-8. Try this: let your bike warm up to operating temp. Give it just enough throttle to place the RPM's between 1900-3000 RPM's. If this doesn't remind you of a small-block...well, I don't know about you. Maybe motorized things aren't your speed. They do make scooters...

Some may find this post unnecessary as if posits nothing new to the forum. Great...sit on it and spin. I'm celebrating an aspect of motorcycling that has nothing to do with speed or being unsafe. Is anyone else here in love with the way their VFR sounds? Or am I just a weirdo?

    Hi, I'm Scott and I'm a soundaholic.

Yeah, I understand to. That one of the reasons I enjoy my VFR over my V-Strom. There's just something about the sound of 4 cylinders as opposed to two that gets the blood moving. The VFR has kind of a "Hollow" sound to it, a lot like the newer Ford Mustangs in my opinion, and I love listening to it.

Honestly, the main reason I bought a VFR is that 10 years ago, some squid came screaming by on a VFR750, and it sounded so good that 10 years later my criteria for buying a bike was :"VFR, with a pipe"

I'm hearing you, I thought it might have been just me. Around town I'm always trying to stay around that 2500 to 3000rpm mark.

Check this out if you're feeling a need for the gear whine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRmGJNdFwxE

Before I bought my VFR I looked up on the net for as much VFR info as I could and that video helped me decide to buy it.

Its nice. I leave for work at 2:30 AM. Even in the summer when all windows are open, I can get out of the neighbourhood without any of the neighbours hearing me. But what a purdy sound entering the freeway and opening er up!

You want to hear the symphony? Get some Microns. They're probably the loudest pipes for the 6th Gen. If not, get a 5th Gen with a Staintune. It sounds like a late model Camaro with Pete Jackson gear drive.

    KC-10 FE out...

That dyno run gave me a funny feeling, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.
And I just got back from a ride.

my bike is so low and throaty at low revs and then screams up high. I would describe it as being "Angry" it just sounds furious when you crank it up. It goes from a rumble to a freight train. I cant get enough of it. Plus, under engine braking, it sounds even better. I dig it.

I wish I could say that...I can't even tell my Accord's running half of the time without looking at the tachometer. Plus, getting the car to sound remotely similar to my bike would require doing something drastic to it. A Honda Accord's not really a "drastic" kind of car...
