i'd trade it for anything that was as comfortable for a big guy like me, as reliable, but maybe just a shade more 'toss-able' that could be found gently used for $5-6K. nothing fits the bill yet, so the VFR stays.

I love the Speed Triple. It along with the Duc Monsters (SSSA) are my favorite modern naked bikes. Now, WHY THE HELL DID THEY CHOP THE BACK END OF THE BIKE OFF? Please someone explain that to me. It literally looks like they forgot to finish puting it together.

    KC-10 FE out...

I have put too much time, $$$ and blood to ever get rid of my VFR. I would never sell or trade her. If she got wrecked, I'd salvage what I could and start on another 4th Gen. If I happen to promote myself next year during the testing cycle my wife said that I could get what evewr bike I want, and yes I have that in writing. Currently I wouldn't mind having as a second bike in no particular order.....

    Duc 1098S in Black
    RC-51
    RC-45

Waiting too see what Aprilia's and BMW's WSBK bikes look like in street trim, as well as the new 675 Bimota and MV before I make my mind up.

The new CBR 1000RR looks alot better in person than it does in pics and is slowly growing on me, it's fairly comfy as well, but I'm still undecided on a new Japanese liter bike. It appears that a few of us have similiar taste in machines, be it either past, present, or future...

I love my VFR, and I don't think I could find a better bike for me..

I know the new CBR1000 is too much bike for my skills, but I saw it at the Honda shop yesterday and WOW! That is a sick bike. I know alot of people don't seem to like the looks of it, but I think it looks really good. I was suprised how small the bike is. Someday I will have to have one as a second bike/maybe track bike.

I'd go for a BMW or a Ducati.
But back to reality... I'll just keep my VFR

Yeah, I've looked at the 848. I've been to the owner forum. and every time I go there, I'm thankful the I was lucky to get a RWB abs.

    hands down, the best.

Honda should market it as an Acura.

I was at a couple of Dealers today while looking for stuff for my VFR and some other accessories. I really like the new Busa a lot!!!! What I would like is a Black 08 Busa. I will be saving my money for an end of year (or new year) leftover Busa and will trade my VFR. Afterwards, I will probably look around for a 93 White VFR in good cond. Love the VFR!!!! If I can't get a Busa, then I will try to get the Suzuki GSXR 1000 or a CBR RR 1000. I just do not like the VTEC on the new VFR and would not buy the bike. Still love the VFR and not knocking anyone's decision to buy a VTEC VFR - I do not want one.

I would only trade for Freedom 55. Then I would buy another VFR to enjoy my retirement!

Offer me a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda(doesn't need to be a convertable), 440 6-pack Cuda, or possibly an AAR Cuda and I'd trade the VFR in a heartbeat. Oh, were we supposed to be realistic?!!?

The first suggestion that may prise me away from my VFR, mind it would have to be the Plum Crazy Hemi version to clinch it....

    Multistrada

    Triumph ST

    Ducati ST3 or ST4

That's about it. I just rode a 748. I have been wanting one for a long time. It is entirely impractical - a toy. It's fun, but not for the kind of riding I enjoy most.

If it wasn't for the 6th Gen I promise I would not have a bike... period. There is nothing that I would trade this for. I would however like to have a K1200S just like your pic AND a 1098S red AND a ST1300 Black AND...

ok, ok, I would trade it for a whole pile of $$.

i'd trade my red VFR for a yellow 2000 5th gen, assuming it was as clean and as good condition as mine. But, having owned one only a few months now, I'd give up my 600s before giving up my VFR...and I wouldn't give up the VFR for any other bike if I could only have one bike.

mello dude, I feel the same way. I finished a 1500-mile run around northern CA yesterday with a couple of friends - one on a Duc and one on a Triumph. We switched bikes a bit, but my VFR suited me best. It is so versatile and refined and the ergos are perfect for me. We rode HWYs 96, 101, 1, 3, 128, 20, 29, 36, 299, and I-5. The bike was great in the curvy stuff and on the slab, too. I had to put a new rear Power Pilot on in St Helena, and by the time I reached Shasta Lake the chicken strips were pretty much gone - well, 1/8 of an inch left. This bike does it all and I felt refreshed at the end of the day. My buddies? Not so much . . . .

That said, a guy needs a supplementary supermotard (Suzuki 450?) to round things out.

Pardon my ignorance...what the hell are chicken strips. I presume you don't get them at the nearest IHOP.

If I understand the term correctly, it's the amount of tread showing PAST the obvious wear indications on your tires. As is "chicken, can't you lean farther than that?"

Now that I know better, it's good to have chicken strips. If you have wear all the way to the very edge of the tire, you got nothing left. Once you go past the edge of the contact patch, the only place left to go is down.

If this is incorrect, please feel free to call me an idiot.
