With the weather turning better I'm seeing more of the sport bike crowd out on the roads these days and I've wondered this for a few years, what's up with the one headlight on and one headlight off look? I've always figured it's some sort of poser thing.

    1) Lower current draw from the charging system means they can run more "Stuff"

    2) They never look at the front of their bikes and don't realize a headlight is out.

Some bikes, like the 01 Honda CBR 600F4i, have one headlight lit for low - the other headlight is for high.

If I'm not mistaken the CBR 600's and 1000's are one for low and one for high. The low and high are on opposite sides between the 600 and 1000 though for whatever reason. I agree never liked the one light look. I prefer a balanced look. I think the 1098's are also one light only on low as well.

Wow, so they come stock that way. Last SS bike I had was an '02 ZX6R, healights operated similar to the VFR.

Da Squirrellman is right I believe. The ducati's have it (projector headlight, no need for two), R1 and R6 come with it stock, CBR's do the one headlight, so do Kawa's.

It aint no squid thang, its just the bikes a lot of squids ride. Me, I would love an R6 or a ZX6R, I think the one sided headlight is kind of neat, at least when it is a projection lamp.

My buddies Bandit has the one eye'd thing. He hates it. Low beam is on the left- when you take a sharp left turn you can't see too well at night. He was looking into re-wiring it so both would light all the time for low and high. We have lots of deer commiting suicide around here in western MA.

yeah, i did notice on my buddies '06 CBR600F4i that the one sided deal is not so hot, I mean, it KIND OF lights up the other side too, but not anywhere close to as well as my VFR. I would want them both working, or Just one light in the middle like the KTM RC8 or Suzi GSXR.
