So every tuesday night is street legal drags at the local strip. Went out with a few friends and had a blast. I have a 1985 VF500F which is basically bone stock except for a modded exhaust but anyway I was running 14's all day and my best pass after getting used to the track was a 13.6 @ 104mph.... not to shabby for a VF500F and it is the exact same time as last year so I guess thats all she's got. :first:

Not bad. I rook my R6s to the track a week ago sunday with some riding buddies. One has a gixxer 1K 07 model, and the other has an 07 1000RR. My 6 is stock except for an M4 can. The 1KRR, first time on the dragstrip for him, ran 11.6 as his best. I made 2 runs, first was 11.6 at 123, the 2nd was 11.3 at 124. No intentions of doing it again, just wanted to see what it would do. I am happy with it.

It is always amazing to me that a 600cc motorcycle, almost stock and with a warranty, can turn low 11's. And that a 500cc mid-eighties bike can do mid 13's.

    Pretty neat!

True dat. But even for a mid 80's 500, with is probably a bit heavier and down on power to my 600, 13's are not shabby.

I ran my old Sabre years back and the best I could do was 14.1 - it was the first time I was ever at a drap strip.

Before I sold my 4th gen I tried it and ran 12.3 as my best and babying the clutch.

Gotta try the 5th gen and even the big ass Valkyie just once for fun.

I take my 1993 VFR a couple times a year, and my best is 12.0's at 110 mph. And yes those damn 600's kill me all the time! My wife and I ride the VFR to the race full dressed, I take all the Givi bags off (before going through Tech inspection), mark the time on the wind screen, and often, put 'busas and gixxers on their trailers! It maybe slow, but it's consistent, I usually make the money rounds. Good times!
