    Thanks for posting up that angle, was looking around for a photo of the emblem, I knew it said Interceptor, Not VFR. :biggrin:

    As someone said the Interceptor name could have been dropped due to insurance reasons, as the CBR used to be the Hurricane, yes I actually remember that, I also remember the Yamaha FJ's and FZR's in 600, 750(limited #'s) and 1000's before they went to the thundercat or something corny like that. Dang I'm old...

    Interceptor has always sounded cool to me..... Then again so did Hurricane..... Then again maybe that means I'm old too?

    Insurance companies were the cause for Honda to drop their bike names in the MID 80's. Ins Co. were flagging bikes with these names for higher insurance rates. although Kawi annd Suzi never caved in with Ninja or Katana. Although Honda's market share is/was 4 or 5 times larger than both of theirs combined

    what an interesting thread. Here in NZ it has always been marketed as VF/VFR, although personally I like the interceptor branding. i noted that pretty much only the north american mags referrred to them as interceptors.

    I think what we have here is a pure marketing decision by the national importer who has the discretion to import which ever version they feel suits their market, which includes product branding/ badging.
