I got these 3 days ago. Like I've said in a few of my posts, now that I'm a USAF Sport Bike Coach & MSF RiderCoach, I've been briefed by my superiors that I need to set the example of PPE every time. I bought a red JR SpeedMaster jacket to replace my Black & Grey Speedmaster Jacket & leather pants seemed to be the next logical step. I got these from Dennis Kirk for $200. They were under close out so they must be the SpeedMaster 4.0 instead of the 5.0. I would be lying if I said I knew what the differences were. I'm sure a 1 piece suit would be better in some instances, but I like to be able to take my jacket off at a restaurant & such.

    Pros:
HEAVY Duty (these things are loaded for war)
Ideal Armor Placement (it's in a pocket in the leg & it doesn't move around like it does in my textile pants)
Knee Sliders (I need to find a place to break them in  )
Waist Is True To Size (38 is a 38)
Both 360 & 8" Zipper (attaches quite nicely to my SpeedMaster jacket)
    Perforated (great for hi temps)
SuperMan Syndrome (I feel freaking invinceable wearing armored leather from head to toe)

    Cons:
Perforated (that's going to suck in the rain)
HEAVY Duty (man, these things are heavy)
Comfort (no where near as comfortable as my textile pants, maybe after they break in)
SuperMan Syndrome (perhaps could lead to a false sense of security)

Anyone want to buy a black & gray Joe Rocket Speedmaster Jacket?

I don't see any for $200? They're listed for $262 in the closeout section, got a link that'll save me $62??

I also have those pants. Am hoping they will break in well. I like the protection they give, but I think they will probably take forever to break in. The JR speedmaster jacket is good to. I like the fact that they have a full circumference zipper to turn it into a full suit.

I just looked at my receipt. When I opened the box, I tried the stuff on, threw the receipt on my desk & threw the box in the recycling pile. Turns out, neither the jacket or the pants showed up on the receipt at the price listed when I bought them. The receipt doesn't match what's on the invoice they emailed me either.

The day I ordered them, jacket listed for $305 & the pants $200. On the receipt they are listed for $269.10, jacket & $236.24, pants. As of today, the items list for $299, jacket & $262.49, pants.

I have no explanation for this.

If you are looking for something custom fit, one or two piece here's a link for a guy near me doing some leathers for $375. Get yourself measured and send it to him and he has them done in Pakistan. He's been getting great reviews from people who have bought them. Takes like a month for delivery. You pick the leathers, perforated or standard. Colors and even lettering.

The guy in my squadron who races (Ducati 1098) says to rub your leather garments with saddle soap. He does it after every race & he says it works wonders to make the garmet soft & supple instead of hard as a board. I guess that's another one of my weekend projects.
