I dont thiunk a nother VFR wheel accept rear of a 88-89 VFR750F(j/k) that is 3,5-17 and has stock a 140/80-17 tire.
But I do know a 1986-1990 CBR600F (Hurricane) front is a strainght fit, its 2,5-17 and use a 110/80-17 tire

Go to Hondavfr.net, you'll find that the CBR600F2 wheels are the easiest to fit. I've helped out several people with the parts needed to make this swap.

Yeah, the F4 wheel won't work. The rotors are too big and too far apart. To make it fit would cost big bucks, like on the order of a $1000.

You'll want to get an F2 wheel for sure.

Why change the front if the rim width is the same @ 2.5" same as stock? Is there a 3" rim that would work? I'm thinking radials only reason for swap.?

Sorry man, the CBR600RR rear isn't going to work on your bike. It's too wide for the chain.

What you really want is a 3.5" wide wheel. Pretty much everything (performance anyway) has come with a 3.5x17 front wheel from the factory. The trick is the brake rotors, the CBR600F2's are the same parts as the stock VF rotors and are spaced the same. That's what makes the swap so easy. Going to a Ø17" is just as important as the change to radial tires.

Jamie, I thought you had to machine the wheel a little bit where the rotors mount up? Is that not the case?

That's the case only for the VF500F, but I don't think you need to on the 86-87 VFR's. Those two years of VFR is still a little bit of a mystery. If you measure the spacing between the rotors on your stock wheel I can tell you right away if the F2 wheel would need to be machined.

If you noticed I mentioned "VF", the post I was replying to was by GreyVF750F. His VF750F does not need any machining to the F2 wheel to make it fit. The only machining is to the VF750F's speedometer drive gearbox and a new spacer on the right side.

Sorry didn't notice you were talking about the VF's. On my 86 VFR the width between rotors is 112mm.

You'd have to machine the F2 wheel to make it fit then. The F2 rotor spacing is 125mm.

Side note: The 112mm spacing is the same as t he VF500F's and CBR600F Hurricane. I have a print that I can send you that shows the machining needed to the F2 wheel. A machine shop would need this in order to remove the correct amount of material and hold the tolerances necessary.
