"cali" model verses 49 state whats the difference???

    I was wondering what the differences on the 6th gen, the cali and state model where????:eek: besides a CA on the frame :rolleyes: only thing i could think of was free parking at the gay pride rally in San Fransicko.. :hippie:

    ok i'm joking about the free parking at the rally but what are the differences must be one or why would honda put the ca on the frame?????????that is funny though fn rofl.......

    California models of Cars and Motorcycles have additional smog equipment.

    I'd guesstimate on average a modern 49 state model vs California has about a 5 pound difference.

    ok guess i'll try this in shop manuel it lists evaporative emmision control system cali type lol (type) even japs know okay back to topic evap purge control soleniod valve lol soleniod purge rofl i have not dissassembled the whole fairing or really looked for these things but i guess thats the difference?? if so is the cali bike slower the 49 state like the rest??????????no cans on my gsxr lol

    From what I remember reading awhile back. Japan doesn't have emission laws/restrictions like we do in California. For the most part, no the equipment won't rob you of horsepower, as long as it's all working properly. It's just one more thing to break, need work at some point, or adds a little weight to the bike.
