I have always liked the look of the round clocks that the US version of the 86-87 VFR750/700F got, and dislike the big clumsy looking €uro style. I just wounder is the swamp a big operation? Just pug and play? The wireing seems the same, how about the mounthing? Anything else I need to do it? Assumed I have some round clocks.

from what i am aware the 86 vfr has round gauges, and the 87(which i have) has square guages, i have the clymers and i think the wiring is the same, its just the shapes that are different.

'86 F2s got the squared gauge pod as well. I've never had much urge to swap it. Though I may have to if the studs keep coming loose and turning in their plastic. I already had to rip one out and JB Weld it back in.

I can now say that the wires just plug in, but the fastners needs big work. Then as >I tested them, the taco just show half of actual rpm. So cheked in hayns manual and 86 har diffrent picup than 87 for taco. bumer..

Think you can retrofit the appropriate pickup and get it working?
