Yep. Haven't been on the board for a long while though.

I'll have the VFR back together in a week or so. Planning on doing either Sandy Valley or Lake Mead/Valley of Fire in 2-3 weeks.

If you send an email to this account it'll go to an email box that I check.

I'm in Vegas (Henderson actually) and hopefully by the end of this week (4/3/08 or 4/4/08) I'll be a rider too. Just put a deposit down on a 2007 VFR800Fi ABS 25th Anni yesterday but the guy I was working with was off for 2 day so I am waiting till Thrusday when he gets back to buy the bike.

After 15 years of not riding I'm getting back into it again. My first bike was a 1985 Interceptor 500 and I've alwasy wanted a VFR just havn't gotten around to it until now. It's been so long that I had to reapply for my Class M and as of yesterday I just got my permit (have to do it all over due to the fact when I got a CA DL once I didn't transfer the Class M and lost it when I came back to Vegas). I don't take the MSF class until the 9th/10th & 11th so I'll be getting my bike on a permit and since I don't know anyone directly that rides I'll have to load it up in the truck and take it home since I don't have a full Class M DL yet.

Which comes to the reason I'm posting now. If any local Vegas riders care to help out a new VFR owner/rider it would be appreciated if we could arrange to meet at the dealer I'm buying the bike from and I could drive it off the lot instead of hauling it off the lot in a truck and waiting a whole week before I can even ride it (other then around my gated community since it's considered private property). Not to mention it allows me to talk with other VFR riders and any helpful advice I could get about my new bike that they've already been through before. It also allows me to start making some riding buddies also.

So let me know if anyone can help out. Shoot me a PM or email and we'll start talking.

    Thanks.

Hey, I'm in Vegas, and just bought an 07 VFR!! By far, the best bike I've ever ridden. If any of you Vegas people are around and want to do some riding anytime soon, let me know!

Rock on, Karen. Welcome aboard. We have an official intro thread if you'd like to let us all know a little about yourself. Buncha VFR weirdos here, so don't let us scare you away.

    Hi Drewl,
Wow, you are in Susanville? I stayed in Susanville one night when I took the long way back home to San Jose from Seattle... I don't even remember when that was or what bike I had... might have been the Harley I had at the time... had to be either that or the SV. Cute little town that Susanville. Some friends and I are riding from Vegas, up through Nevada across Tahoe to SF, down to Monterey then, who knows where in a few weeks. We'll probably end up somewhere close to Susanville... I'll be going with 2 Wings and a V-Strom... and maybe a Harley. No other VFRs, sadly.

Hello. You now have another Vegas VFR rider on here. I usually use this place for maintenance info. And knight4u872 I believe i've met you out at LVMS watching a trackday a couple months back. If your on 702Sportbikes.com then it was probably you. I'm mainly on there and scsportbikes.com as they are my local forums. I don't see many VFR's around in Vegas so if you guys/girls contact me we can go riding sometime. I'm usually at MotoCafe then Red Rock on tuesdays and thursdays.

    ~~Matt

Hey BlueRider! Good to see another Viffer here in Vegas! I've been to MotoCafe a couple times on Wednesdays... keep in touch on that... if we're there the same night we should connect. What's at Red Rock on Tuesdays and Thursdays?

I ride with a slow group to Mt. Charleston most Saturdays... a couple Gold Wings and a V-Strom. There are always other people coming and going too, so we're never quite sure who will show up. I usually take off right before the first set of twisties, get to the lodge, find a table, sit down and then watch them coming up the switchback below!! (Okay, I only got that far ahead this past weekend because they got stuck behind a cement truck) You are welcome to come along with us and you'd be welcome to take off with me or go ahead and I'll follow you! Let me know if you wanna go and I can give you details.

Also, if you like doing longer distances, we will be going to Pioche this Monday (Labor Day). They have a real down home Labor Day Parade. I went a couple years ago and it was fun. Early start though. Again, if you're interested, let me know and I'll give you details on it.

You going to MotoCafe tomorrow night?

    Hope to see you soon!
    Karen

You must be going to the WildStyle Wednesdays they have. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my days off and my main riding days. Although the first week of October i'm only working in the evening and will be riding several days I normally don't. My club has thursday evening rides out at Red Rock. We meet at the Chevron at Charleston/215 at 6pm. All are welcome. We usually get 2 or 3 laps on the inner loop and go by Port of Subs afterwards to hang. Probably be doing this through October. Come out and say hi if your free or maybe i'll catch you at motocafe one afternoon.

I may try to make it out this or next Thursday... that's a tough time for me 'cause it's when I feed my birds, but I'll figure somethin' out. See you soon!
