    Hello Group,
Looking for a little advice. Planning on getting a new exhaust on my Gen4, looking at the 2bros CF- M2/M5 or the Staintune. My question is which one gives the best deep note as opposed to the high scream, and if i go with the high mount will i still be able to use my Gviv side luggage. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thomas,

I'm sure others have actually experience, but I believe there are concerns with a high mount and luggage.

I heard a 2bros cf on a 5th gen, it was loud and throaty.

I'm happy with my Staintune. It seems to emphasize the v-8 sound nicely.

    Hello Kingsley,
Thanks for the reply, your bike looks great  . Were there any special mod's required to mount the pipe? I heard there isn't any need to re-jet is that true? I have the Givi side hard cases but i love the hi mount look. might be selling some cases soon, pass it on. I found the pipe here http://www.exoticsportbike.com/honda36.htm thanks for the info.

    Hi tweber,

The install was easy, everything fits well. Takes about 15 minutes. No re-jet required. You'll notice the weight savings too...the stocker is heavy.
I run mine with the baffle out - it's a little rough just above idle. Not sure if it's carb sync, back pressure, etc. Not enough to worry about though, I have a UNI foam filter and de-snorkeled the air box.

Good luck with your decision. The removable baffle is a great feature on the Staintune

When you take your tank off you'll see a rubber elbow at the front. Removing it allows a little more breathing (and a lot more intake noise) which probably doesn't benefit performance, but, makes it sound less like a sewing machine.

I didn't use the plate bracket at all. Using the circuit from the old light I drilled new holes and wired LED license bolts. Cost less than $20 (thanks to tips from this site)

Check out the search function on the site, it will help with a lot of your questions. How's your Regulator/Rectifier...done the PC fan mod yet?

    Cheers
    Bryan

Ya really! You wouldn't think there were many "unmolested" 4th gen fenders left out there.

I Like high mounts a lot, but kinda limited to the ones offered for the 4th gens now. Not to mention the luggage issue.

If you want to stay away from a piercing scream, I'd go with carbon fiber.

I haven't seen 2Bros CF unit that has aged well, maybe it's lack of care on the owners' part. Who knows.

Big fan of Micron units, great quality and rich, mature sound. They have a standard mount for the 4th gen still.

The CF on my 5th gen looks amazing, it's nearly a year old too.

You Guys are great with the knowledge!! That Micron looks great SLOav8r. I did the R/R PC fan mod about 1.5 yrs ago, haven't had any issue since. Now watch my luck change. My son reminded me how much i do use my Gviv cases, might need to reconsider the low mount. Kingsley, I saw those LED tag lights at Cycle Gear, will be picking up a set this weekend. I'll attempt the removing of the elbow section the turbo hair dryer whine gets a boring sometimes.

    Thanks

I've been looking to do the same to my gen3. Seems to be conflicting logic regarding re-jet. Can anyone provide a definitive answer on this?

Can say for a fact that re-jetting is not necessary. Period.

Finally talked to a real person from www.exoticsportbike.com today. Was informed that they didn't have the Staintune hi/lo mount in stock, which wasn't the case when i placed the order. They wouldn't be in the states until sometime in May???? So I asked about Micron, They said they contacted Micron who doesn't make the Gen4 slip-ons any more. Tried 2Bros,They only do special orders now. 2Bros will ship me one in about a week. Do you guys or ladies think the M5 Carbon is to big for the viffer??

    I really like my staintune.
As a side effect, you get a full view of the rear wheel  which I love.
