Just had mine done. The factory coating was a pain to get off. After trying without a whole lot of success to strip them with aircraft stripper, I went to harbor freight and bought a gravity feed bead blaster and some media to finish the job. I made a huge mess outside when I was blasting the remainder of the paint off, but it worked great. All total with the purchase of the gun and media it cost me @ $165.00 to get them done. ( $35.00 for the tools and $130.00 for the powdercoating) Just wanted to get some opinions.

Nice! Big improvement, Wouldn't the powder coaters have cleaned them up for you anyway?

Most do, but the one that I used didn't have the tools I guess. In my area, it's hard to find a competent coater, so I did what I had to.

    Dude, that looks so good.

That's the one thing about the RWB I'm picking up next week... I feel like I can't play with it too much without un-25th-ing it... gah.

I have a pearl as well and thought of doing the rims the same. But after 1 1/2 years of 100 mile round trips to work each day, my wheels get dirty as a pigs belly. Being Grey it is not that noticeable but white would really stick out. Thought maybe black but not sure how that would look. Your white looks grand though. Wished I could pull it off.

They look great. I am partial to white rims too. They take more work to keep clean, but I think it's worth it.

I think they look great! I think I need to find a way to get mine done! I'm not sure what color I'd go for though, probably a version of Silver again or perhaps black. I think Red may be end up being just too much red... anyone else have a Red VFR with Red wheels? I've seen them with gloss black, chrome, Silver and brushed silver...

I think anodized gold, or possibly even a ferrari yellow would look good on a red bike.
