Calstar, huh? We don't interact with them much. Just the crew from near Tahoe every once in a while. Individuals in this business are usually friendly, but competition is very high. It can get quite ugly at times between companies. There are also 6-8 air ambulance services in Nor Cal with dozens of flight crew members. We stop and say hi to other crews, but don't get to know them.

    Did I mention I've done 135?(indicated)

Haha, the problem with that is, if you ask any 5 year old, especially the one who happens to be my son, he'll tell you that YELLOW is the fastest color. Here, I'll ask him now...

Lol, he says it'll do a million billion! And who am I to argue with a 5 year old's logic!

Oh, and to actually contribute to the thread, having only been riding the bike for a month now, I've been too chicken to take it up over about 85 or so.

    This website says 155mph. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_vfr_800_f1_1998.php

I had mine to an indicated 152 the other night, might have had a couple more mph in it. Pegged throttle for quite a while. Fun and stable!

On the " Not track " the fastest I've had my Gen 5 up to is a mere indicated 141 Imperial on a deserted 3 mile straight piece of open back road before losing my bottle worrying about life & licence.

Most tracks don't have straights that long lol. I only got up to 140 or so on a ZX6RR in 2005. I have driven right past cops at 145 and they didnt even react. I only dop it on deserted roads of course. a Sheriff and a hwy patrolman have both told me that they don't even bother pursuing bikes going that fast.

As for danger? An individual thing. I feel pretty safe and it's a calculated risk and I wear top kit.

Actually the 3 mile length is not room to wind it up, it was probably there before the first half mile starting at 70, its to give clear visibility of whats around, ie no smokies coming or parked or Skippy's bounding across the field towards the road.

Last November, temps in the mid 40s, I got up to 141 on the speedo (I was nearing the braking point for a curve and glanced at the speed). At the apex I was getting ready to roll back on it and saw two deer standing in the right of way "aw sh#t". I realized it was deer season and instantly I had that standing in the middle of a minefield feeling. I had a nice easy (paranoid) ride for the rest of the way home.

Agree, I only give it the full berries in areas like that too.

As for pursuit, the coppers I have talked to here say that doesn't happen at all, ever, here. Too expensive and takes too long to set up. County Sheriffs really give tickets at asll to anybody they let the state boys do all that.

I have only had my 6th Gen for 2 weeks and i have a 6 mile access road to off the main road to work. so everyday on the way home I wind her up a little more.
today 5th gear 122mph indicated then i shifted and did not look down again. gets to it quick too. i figure the indicated is a bit optimistic too. I will mount my GPS when i mount my bags and see. I figure the bags will slow me down too.

it sure is smooth in the triple digits... My Kingpin feels like she is going to come apart over 90...
