Any comments good or bad about Avon Storm tires.? Dealer gives them the thumbs up but then again , he's the one selling them. Since this site has been an infinite resource for information I thought i'd run it by everyone!

I love my new Coni Road Attack tires have only riden on them once this year but from what i can tell they will be alot better than the stock tires that were on the bike and they look really nice as well. Granted the old BT020 tires were worn out to say the least.

I just had Storms installed a couple of weeks ago on my 03.

A huge inprovement over the flattened out PR on the rear and the Bridgestone something or other up front. These were from the previous owner.

I've only put around 100 miles on them so far due to the weather here, but the difference so far is like night and day.

Handling feels great, they have a sort of cushiness to them, it's hard to explain, the bike feels firmly planted and lighter at the same time.

    So far I love them.

The only downside I have heard is that the wear may not be all it's supposed to be. We'll have to see.

I've got over 6000 miles on my storms and they're holding up quite well. They still have good grip and are not even that cupped. I figure I've got @ 2000 left on the rear and when it comes time to replace them, I'm using the storms again.

You didn't mention what type of riding ?

For Sport Touring & all around, the storms a re OK, The Conti's are better, & so far the new Dunlop Street Smarts are the ticket !

As long as you don't expect to be the destroyer of the twisties, then Storm ST's are a great choice. They do, however, handle way better then you'd expect a touring tire too.

I put nearly 7k miles of about 90% slab mileage on mine going to NY and back. No cupping, very smooth on the road, VERY VERY confident in the rain (hurray for thunderstorms), and I'd have no problem putting another 2 or 3k miles on the rear still.

    You won't be disappointed.
