Meh, no thanks, I don't see the point in the design.

Well no clue what the china-tastic-WAVY-rotors do.

But Galfer's Wave Rotors are great discs. For me, they work better then OEM and look super sweeeet.

I'm sure someone, that actually knows what they're talking about, can be a little more scientific about it. One of the someone's confirmed that they are lighter this weekend. So an even bigger bonus.

Last winter while fitting my 954 front end to my VFR I also installed Galfer wave rotors. They were cheaper than the OEM rotors. Yes, they do add to the looks of the bike, but between the S/S brake lines, bigger diameter rotors that the 954 front end gives us and the wave rotors, I can now say that I know what wooden brakes feel like. I have so much feedback from my front end that I never had before. I can't honestly say if it's a singular component, or all of them put together. I also so much more confidance in my front end due to the additional feedback that I never had before. If the wave rotors weren't cheaper than OEM, I probably wouldn't have gone that route.

Technically speaking, wouldn't wave rotors of the same diameter reduce stopping power by virtue of less rotor area? Especially at the edges of the rotor where rotational forces are greatest? I would bet $100 that the "wave" rotor has less surface area than the stock rotor. Surface area is what stops the bike, folks.

Stock VFR rotors (like most other motorcycles) are cross drilled. If I had a warped rotor, I wouldn't hesitate to "upgrade" to these at that price. But to add bling where it is otherwise unnecessary is a waste.

Oh, and Doug - you say you now know what "wooden" brakes feel like... Every other time I have heard "wooden" and "brake feel" in the same sentence it's a bad thing.

That's really cheap. Pretty good deal if you needed to replace the stock rotors. I'm not a big fan of ordering stuff from China but their feedback is pretty good.

Tell me about it. Before I upgraded I didn't really know what "Feel" of the front end and brakes was like. After upgrading all the front end components, I can say that the stock front end definitely felt "wooden" as compared to the new set up that I'm currently running. I have so much more confidence now!!! Again, I can't really attribute that to a singular component as I swapped EVERYTHING out at the same time.

If by wooden, you mean "less mushy" then we're on the same page.

I'd imagine that the 954 front end is certainly firmer than the VFR 750 one, that probably has the most to do with your new confidence.
