    Dash,

Thanks he is a great boy. Show days are over since he tore his ACL!!! Yes I could have bought a clean used VFR for the same price!!!

The idiots at the shop just ordered my parts after a week. They were proud to tell me they did the recall!!! GDIT.

That's a sad thing. Wind was horrible here, today, too. I was riding to the bank, trying to get a tiny bit of saddle time in before the rain and I caught a gust broadside from the inside while deep in a turn. Man, it felt like the bike was either on ice or outright levitating, it was scary.

Wind is not our friend up here in Montana. My Toyota pickup gave up it's spot in the garage for the VFR for this exact reason. It is a rare day when the wind doesn't gust to at least 30 mph...especially in the spring.

Sorry to hear about your bike, dude. Best wishes getting her repaired...

    Back on the Road:)

    Very happy Scarlet is BACK!!!!

New tires and new body work makes Joe a happy boy!!! Went with the Metz Roadtec Z6 and they feel good. Once the crap is off the sides I play with some lean angles.

I also order the Motivation frame sliders while she was in the shop!! I willing to bet they go on fast.

I have to run out and put the bike in the hangar everytime an airplane taxis by. Not very often because we are next to the dirt runway, but he prop wash makes me nervous.

    $3900 sounds ridiculous.

I low sided my VFR and bought all the parts thru a dealer in Indiana (http://www.servicehonda.com/) for a little over $800..

    Right Cowl
    Clutch Cover & Gasket
    Foot Peg
    Turn Signal lens
    Mirror
    Brake Lever
    Bar End
    Various Hardware...

Granted, the tank lists for $683.29 but service honda has it for $451.05.

And then there's the labor.... Even still, $3900 is insane.

For as much as all of your future insurance premiums will cost you I would have bought all the parts on my own and done it. You would have laid out more cash now, but in the long run you'd save.... The insurance comany will get the $3900 out of you eventually.

EDIT: I don;t know which year VFR you have, but there are actually three tanks for the 2000 VFR for example...

    stephanon2whls,

There were a few other parts like the heli bars, front cowl and directionals, head pipe from the exhaust was dinged. The exhaust was ?

But I'm 45 and not 25 so the time to put everything on isn't plentiful for me. Liberty Mutual didn't even look at the bike just said fine. One of the reasons for this I've been with them for over 18 years and they have everything of mine, house, cars, motorcycles and life. They have a program with my company for over 30 years. If they pop me that's okay I can afford it.

If I put on the parts myself and kept the $ it would have been still about 2K with the head pipe. I would have kept $1800 but remember my deductable was $ 100. 00 so I felt it was best.

    Thanks,

    Joe
