Im wondering if there is a way to lower the ride height on a VFR. I rode home last night and was a bit shaky stopping and balancing the bike. I can almost put both balls of my feet on the ground now but would like to be able to go more flat footed. I wonder if you can ajust the preload? If I choose to get a seargent seat does that afford us short people a little less height?

Yes you can adjust the preload on the rear spring. There's a tool in your tool kit under the seat for it. It will soften the rear suspension's feel a bit though. Many people who are a little shorter may also shave the seat or some aftermarket seats are shaped a little lower.

    gsdfriendly,
Check the site for MCT54. He manufactures and sells VFR lowering link kits. Ordered one last year, great product and speedy service. Hope this helps.

    Just lowered the 2006

A local shop bought the links and brought the bike down about 1.2 inches with links, and it makes a world of difference. (The Corbin seat did little to lower it). Unfortunately the shop did a lousy job of shortening the side stand and left it too long and the inevitable happened as soon as I got it home. Fortunately it landed on me and no damage was done to the bike. I've had the stand reworked by someone else and now everything is great.
