I'm thinking about cutting down the rear fender as to clean it up a bit. but once done, there's no turning back. So thought I'd ask what you have in the way of a rear fender mod? Photos would be very helpful as part of me would like to do something a little different but as I check it out it's looking more like a all or nothing thing, so to help out I wanted to see what you've all done? if anything.

I cut the "mud guard" on my 91 up substantially - take a look at my photos in the third gen section. Not the greatest views, but you can see that I brought it up just below the license plate. And I'm actually going to trim it up so that you can't see it at all below the license plate.
From the side, it makes that a$$ end look a lot less heavy. I think it improves the look substantially.

    Fender mod

I cut all of the rear fender off and then used the fender eliminator kit. You can get one that fits very nicely from Lockhart Phillips.

That's not true, we all want to see!

The P.O. of my 98 cut the entire fender off which looks silly in my opinion. A well executed trim is far nicer on a VFR. The race bike wannabe look is too much IMHO. On that note, does anybody have a 98VFR rear fender that they want to sell? :drum:
