Okay I left the bike out over the weekend and got the phone call the bike blew over in some 70mph wind. Yes It is my fault I should have brought in the garage. It hit real hard and I haven't looked under the cover yet.

I remember reading about covers and wind make a nice sail!!!!! I'm sure the side fairing, front cowl, rear cowl and rear pegs are gone. If the tank was hit I believe they'll total it. My guess
$ 2k in plastic. I don't know about the crank cover and the radiator.

Yes I have full coverage and $500/100 deductibles, comp being the $100.00.

No ones fault what is meant to be will be. Look at the bright side It may give me a chance to look at new bikes.

I have heard that covers are not all they are cracked up to be. They tend to trap moisture inside instead of allowing the rain on on the bike, then allowing the wind or breeze to dry it off. Mine has gone through two winters of commuting and is none for the worse for wear from the rain. And in case you don't know, we on the wet coast of Canada have developed gills to survive.

Having it towed into the shop today!

    100 bucks and it's fixed? That's a no-brainer.

Wow surprised you had that much damage. I dropped mine on its side rolling it into my side yard awhile back. Bike hit cloths line pole on the way down. Only damage was a cracked wind screen, a small scuff on the right fairing, and had to readjust my right grip. Too bad, good luck on the repairs.

    Bummer

I hoped you kicked that trash cans ass

If they do total it, try & buy it back (cheap) & you can set it up as a back up bike or a track bike  Just a thought:tongue:

Yea, I've learned that one the hard way. Cover + strong wind = parachute. Now I always keep my bike on the center stand when the cover is on. Sorry about your bike though...

Okay final damage price is in. $ 3900 from the dealer!!! Liberty Mutual said okay so I have the $100 deductible to pay and that is it.

I will say the dealer must be making some big $ on this.

Yeah, the dealer jumped all over this ins job. Sounds WAAAAY high to me. But, for that price it should be better than new when you get it back.

Well, I guess it is better than crashing it while you were riding it... Whatta drag! At least you don't have to worry about checking the frame to see if it is still straight.

I'm trying to come up with something to take the sting out...

Fuj, sorry to hear about your bike. Sounds like it took a beating.

I had my 03 get blown over in the parking lot at work last year. It was not covered, the fairing was a big enough sail. It was parked on the side stand and and fell on the right side. Broke off the R. mirror, the "road feeler" on the R. footpeg, and some minor scratches on the fairing. Not enough damage to make my deductible, just enough to piss me off. Two other bikes, including a 1200LT Beemer were also blown over that day.

My advice: keep the cover for inside the garage to keep dust off over the winter.

Oh well, lesson learned... scars to prove it.

Hey all I'm going to add some sliders as soon as I get the bike back!!! So far the Motivation sliders seem to be all. I think I can handle the mod.

$3900 bucks because of a fall-over?!?!?!?!?!? That's why I hate all the plastic fairings.
