Has anyone out there (besides myself) had a bad experience with Ridegear.com? While ordering exhaust and various parts from several different online dealers, I ordered a BMC air filter from these people. That was over a week ago and so far I've emailed their customer support department twice and tried phoning twice and have yet to get a simple answer as to when I can expect my air filter. So far I have yet to even hear back from them...

In fairness to the other dealers, they were fantastic!

My advice would be to do business with one of the other online sellers and stay away from Ridegear.com. MHO

My one experience with them was actually pretty good. Ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Powers, they sent me a dirt bike knobby front tire in error. They fixed the problem right away and got me the correct front tire w/in 48 hrs. I was happy with them in the end.

I had a terrible experience with Ridegear.com. I order a couple shirts and got an email two days later they were out of stock and that I now had a credit with them. At the bottom of the email was a link (broken) to a customer service survey, I guess you can't be rated low if you don't direct people to your survey.

So I take the next day or so seeing if there's anything I'd like instead and decided there really wasn't. I send an email stating that there's nothing else I'd like, that I'd like my money back, that their link didn't work and oh yeah, you still have the item I wanted on your website as 'in stock' and you might want to take that down.

No response. So four days after the original email I send a second email, to every email address I can find on their site reiterating everything I said in the first (and yes the items were still 'in stock'), and that I REALLY wanted my money back. Two days later I get the exact same email (broken link and all) I got from them the first time. I mean the EXACT SAME email, I thought I'd made a mistake and reread something from my old folder or something.

Now I was pissed and sent a nasty email stating that this was a bait-and-switch and I wanted my money back in the next 24 hours. I couldn't believe how bad their customer service was. The next day I finally get an actual email from a person apologizing for everything but that per their policy it'd be two weeks until the money was returned. I quickly emailed back that the way I paid (PayPal, because I had credit on there and wanted to try it versus a credit card) took seconds for them to receive it and unlike a credit card there shouldn't be a crediting delay issue.

The next morning I got an email from PayPal stating my money was returned. I didn't get anything further from Ridegear, no apology for the delayd response, no reason the items were still on the website, no reason the survey link didn't work.

I'm not going to shop with them again, that I know for sure.

About this time last year I bought a Cortech Impulse II leather jacket from Ridegear.com. The purchase went fine and was very happy with the jacket. About 6 months later the tab on the main zipper broke. Ridegear.com was un-willing to do ANYTHING to help me get it fixed. They simply gave me the customer service e-mail address for Cortech, which also got me nowhere. I will not buy anything else from Ridegear.com.

Ridegear comes up in other forums I frequent and it always goes this way, I seem to have had the only positive experience with that place. Gotta wonder how they stay in business.

    Thanks you guys!

This is a great forum and a great site. I was afraid it was just me. I'm going to dispute the charges with my bank and try to have it reversed.

I bought an electronic speedo from them for my vfr when the head unit broke. I had no problems from Ridegear what so ever and received the product in a timely manner.

dskelton: In all fairness, I understand and sympathise with your problem getting the zipper fixed, but Ridegear does not warranty the product, the manufacturer does. And while there are many places that will do more than just give you a CS number for the manufacturer, there are just as many that won't. It is of course the individual's choice whether to deal with a company after a bad experience. I just wanted to point this little fact out as I have run into that same issue, where I bought a product from one place, had a problem, only to find out later that the retailer would not/did not cover or warranty the product in any way.

I think that companies that go the extra mile for their customers are to be commended as they are taking CS to another level.
