I got the idea from doing a search on VFRD - went to Hobby Lobby and got an enamel model paint - comes in a little jar. It's Testor's #1169 - match is pretty much dead on to the pearl yellow, just a head's up for those looking to fix little scratches.

Thanks alot, just bought my yellow beast and it has a few minor dings here and there. Do you have any close up pics of areas you have touched up?
    Love your seat btw.

As a matter of fact, I was just looking at the scratches on my baby thinking I should clean them up. Thank you for the heads-up.

On the the things you can do to get a very professional repair is to get the Langka Paint Chip Repair Blob removal kit. The way it works is you apply the touch-up paint enough to cover your scratch, chip or ding, and actually apply enough to cover the damage. This generally means there is a "blob" of paint that is above the surface. You let the touched-up area dry for an hour or two, and then use the Langka kit to polish away the blob. This leaves the repaired surface smooth, and does not damage the original surrounding paint finish. I used it to paint some small chips and scratches from stones on my F4i, and it works very well.

Here is the link to Langka: http://www.langka.com/

    + 1 for pictures.

Can you post up some pictures of the paint? I will most likely be picking up some...

    Blob Eliminator

Thanks for the link to the landka site.

The techniques seem consistent with what I've used before. I wonder what the Blob Eliminator might be? My guess would be something like lacquer thinner?

No, it's a combination of rubbing compound and cloth.

Thanks for the heads up on the color match, I'm going to try some on a couple of my character marks on my ride.

anything wrong with using an acrylic paint? I found the testors paint and matched it with an acrylic paint (the dude at the hobby store recommended so I could wash it off before it dries if i mess up...)

    Any thoughts?

I'd love to see some pictures of the finished touchup

The testors paint comes right off with your finger if you mess up. Keep in mind you are using a yellow model paint to touch up Honda's shining pearl yellow - it is the closest thing I've found by far, but it is not going to be a perfect touchup.

Not of the touchup paint - I had small rub marks by where the frankenbolts go, that's the only place I used it. A jar of the paint is like $2.49, hardly a big investment to try it out. If you have rash or major scratches, this isnt the fix.
