Hello, I own a 1986 Honda VFR. After riding the bike and parking it in my garage, the smell of gas is terrible. There is none spilled or leaking. The bike has just returned to me from the mechanic where is sat for almost a year waiting on body work. He gave it a service, and said it was good to go. I do not recall the gas smell when I had it before the body work was damaged. What is going on and how do I stop it? Thanks in advance, Jim
I had a similar symptom on my 82 Magna. This is a long shot, but here's how mine turned out. My 82 had a braided fuel line connecting the tank and the engine. The hose just got so old that it started seeping through the braids which caused a slow leak. Evaporated before it ever hit the ground or anything. Cost me pennies to have the auto store cut me a piece of replacement hose. I would definitely check all the fuel lines.
