Just want to say Hi to all and introduce myself. I live in central NC and currently ride a 1987 Nighthawk 450. I have a friend that is gonna sell her 02 VFR in a few weeks and has offered to sell to me at an incredible price. She's wanting to move it out from beside the Ducati Monster to make room for a <shudder> Harley <shudder>. It only has 12k miles and is in near perfect condition. I'm here to learn all I can about these wonderful machines.
i must be mistaken, but it seems like your post said someone wants to sell you a VFR at a discount to make room for a harley... regardless, get the VFR, you more than likely will be pleased and they will be sad. welcome to VFRWorld.
Her new fella rides a Harley. She wants one to ride with him when she feels 'cruisy'. She's keeping her Monster for when she feels sporty. Works for me. She normally just rode the VFR for overnights/distance so it has low miles. She's just moved from NJ so it was garaged a lot of the year. She wants it to go to a home where it will be loved and appreciated.
Get that thing quick Hello my central NC, soon-to-be VFR riding brother. I'm in central NC (Greensboro-ish) myself and ride a 2000. Drop a line and maybe we can meet up in the future. I usually ride with my brother and some of his pals and their Ducatis and Beemers. My first bike was an '83 550 Nighthawk. That was a great bike to learn on. You'll love the VFR. Welcome to the world.
Welcome. Buy the VFR. Do the world a service & convince your friend that Harley IS NOT the answer. Bribe if you must. KC-10 FE out... lane:
Go for it, taking full advantage of the pompous, poser mentality ( or lack of it) involved with switching from a VFR to a Harley!! This person ( the seller) is desperately seeking the social acceptance of cretinous, saprophytic morons!
It's officially mine as of 5:00 EST today. 2002 Red with Helibars and hard bags. The bike only has 12,000 miles. I thought she bought it used in 2004 but it was a new 2002 in 2004 so I know the bike has been well cared for. It should be nice here in NC this weekend ( in the 60's) so I plan on taking a few pics. Can't wait to ride.
Congrats! that is awesome news. Sounds like a great bike and already with the Helibars and hard bags... thats wicked.
Congrats on your new ride and welcome! You'll find this is a great place to hang out, terrific folks here.
welcome hope you get the vfr. i had a nighthawk for a couple of years it was a great reliable bike. the vfr is an excellant upgrade
Welcome and congratulations. My first bike was a 450 Nighthawk. Great bike to learn on. Then I started getting into bikes in general, lusted after the VFR's for years, couldn't afford a new bike until just last year when I stumbled on a '98 in a friend's garage. SUCH a joy to ride - even now just going to work is something to look forward to 'cause I'll ride. Have fun with your new baby!
