Any ideas on what this guy did to his tail section?

I like the way the tail of this bike looks but I can't figure out what was done to it?

 

Looks like he just chopped it off and stuck a different light in there...

 

It's European, maybe the tail sections for that year were a little different. Their lighting requirements have always been different than ours.

 

could have customly fabricated a new tail section and new side fairings frm fiberglass.

 

It's not the right tank either. Looks like the front of the tank dips down and around the frame. Definitely some one-off work done to it.

Maybe the tank is from another Honda model?

 

It's a VF500. Stock fairings, w/ the tail chopped.
