I have had very good reports from a friend who owns a bike shop, and he tells me they are made in a factory belonging to Continental. I hope they're good....I ordered a set.

Shinkos are a good tire for the price. I ran a rear on mine for a while until I could get a set of avon storms. I thought it was pretty good and it seemed to wear at a good rate. The only real complaint I had is that it was a bit "squared" even when new, but it handled okay.

I got mine mounted and initial indications are good. I'll try to ride enough this weekend to say more. They feel a lot better than those old Michelins that were on it.

    why not?

Guy at the bike shop recommended these tires. I trusted his judgement. I have been very happy with them. 1800 miles in two months. Perfect. Show little or no wear. Sticky enough for my riding style. Cheap too.

    Contrasting viewpoint

Not to be a smartass but I have seen the reviews in the motorags of Shinkos vs the majors. They perform far less as well as any of the top tires. So for somebody that really leans it hard, I'm not gonna risk my bahooty
by going cheap. I dont like the price tag I pay for the tires I buy, but I know there gonna be there when I need it.

I've ride with 2 guys, both fast riders on a VFR Gen5 and SuperBlackbird that tried Shinko's due to budget reasons they went back to Powers well before wearing the Shinko's out, they reported the Shinko's supprisingly ok until they went off after cooking them through long twisties, then they were rubbish.

Definitely on Shinko's, suspect we quietly agree on quite a few other things just not the Gen 6's Sportstouring vs sportsTouring question.
