Picked up my new (leftover) Pearl White '06 yesterday. I also ride a Suzuki V-Strom DL650. I commute about 115 miles RT into Northern VA thru DC, and have logged 18k in 16 months on my Honda cruiser (which is now gone in favor of the VFR), and 14k in 10 months on my DL650. I've only been riding since Dec '05 after taking the MSF course, and just wish I'd started riding 20 years ago. What a blast! Anyway, I'm playing catch-up to all you vets out there with 100k+ under your belts, and am looking forward to learning from all of you.

Thanks for letting me ramble, and stay healthy out there!

Cool another SMIB in the world. Do you head up 210, 5, or 4?

    Prosit,

LOL! I was wondering if you'd say something about SMIBs!

In the mornings I head North on 5, past the Suitland Parkway, West on Good Hope Rd, get on 395 S on the edge of DC, and then catch 110 into Rosslyn. I take a longer route home in the afternoon - 210 S to 228, then I stay on country roads most of the way home to Mechanicsville. It's longer, but definitely more scenic and non-stop.

Do you commute Northbound, or stay in SMIBville?

Welcome from Northern Maryland, Annapolis (sort of)! We're looking to retire down Drum Point way to pursue our other addiction, sailing.
