Another thread asked for interesting photos of you bike. I took a bunch of shots and thought you, the VFRatti of VFRworld might help me by telling me what the pictures are of. Here's the second one, harder than the first, keep your answers appropriate for church: (If you look really close, you can see my face Stuka.... really close (someone wack the back of the monitor so it hits Jason's nose now  ))
If it was covered with sludge and had rounded-off corners, I'd say it was a oil leak adjuster on a Norton that they never made a tool for.
Im going with front fender. Some little do-dad for the brake lines to snag onto. If not that, it is the training wheels mount on the back. It was 50/50 between those and or a sunroof adjustment.
Part of your new chrome chain guard with an airbrushed picture of some "Dorkasaurus" holding a camera!? BZ
I never saw #1. by the way, when you title a thread whazzit #2, it makes me a little nervous to look at the pic. I give up... what is it?
Its a Valentines heart!!! oh wait.....after a second look the reflection looks like its the virgin marry holding a digital camera.
Whazzit = what is it then wax residue... yep, there is wax residue that may lead some of you to think this is an ear, but note there is no hair growing there so it's not an ear. The distinguished judge will not reveal the zit on the first day if no one has even come close. Yeah, it is kinda unfair to folks that don't have a sixth gen, but you will get to learn what some stuff is by looking at the answers. I'm hoping to get some macro shots of the older bike's unique parts so we can all learn what to look for after stalking the wild VFR and getting up close.
It's the voltage adjuster for the flux-capacitor, no wait, it a wind powered regulator/rectifier. You see the airflow coming off the screw will turn the hex shaped turbine and rotate at the corresponding speed!!! Actually I have no clue, as my 4th gen has nothing close to this as far as I know, and I know my VFR fairly well!!!
It was time to uncover the vfr and do some trickle charging, so I figured what the hell, I'll have a look. I found it, but have no idea what it is. If I HAD to guess I'd say it is the sensor for air temp?
Ladies and Gentleman. I would like to formally award the Whatzhit #2 prize to.......:nerd: (calculating total score point values)......:smash: (recovering from computer crash) What was I doing? , yes, right... the winner is: SCraig: it is indeed a phillips head screw the runner-ups are folks that placed the screw next to what is likely the temperature sensor under the fairing directly above the front fender on my 6th gen RWB. ** You might also notice some waxy build-up that I would like ensure all of my family, friends, and partners is not from Derstuka's crack seepage.
As winner of the first Whazzit question I will have to say that the winning answer was in no way as creative as what you requested Nozzle. I must submit that this is the secret adjuster screw for the comfort level of the 6th Gen seat. It has settings from "Plank with rusty nail protruding" to "Antique buttock torture device". I know I found this the other day when i was washing the roadkill off of the front tire...
How could I have missed that?? A phillips head screw - - man am I stupid. Oh well, we anxiously await #3. EVvy
