Sure would be nice to have a bunch of extra parts but the metallurgy side of me is concerned. If the heat was enough to melt the front fairing, headlights, seat, and rear seat cowl what do you think it did to the frame, hoses, lines, rotors and so on. Most of the damaged parts I would guess have a low melting point, but still has me wondering...

    Opinions anyone...

If I were in the market, I'd bid...

I'm not that concerned about the damage, most of the stuff like the frame/hoses/brake rotors deal with temps far in excess of what this bike went through. If I remember correctly, clear plastic has the lowest melting point, and all of it is relatively intact as far as the pictures show.

I'd replace the tires, clean up the rest, and give it an RC30 paint job like it should have had in the beginning (French Touch post).

I think the frame and most of it looks good from the pics.....I think it would be a great project bike. The melted plastic was probably from just the heat generated from the fire, or maybe debris, or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about...probably the latter...

Looks to be ALL cosmetic ... like to see a up close pic of the wiring & brake hoses though even if they had to be replaced ...I'd pay the current bid if it were closer to me (2,056)

The fact that it starts up and runs says that most of the electrical and fuel system is intact. If they weren't badly damaged, I'd think that darn near everything is fine. In my limited exposure/experience, it looks like very minor damage (I helped resurrect a fire damaged houseboat and VW, both a lot worse than this appears to be).

It looks like an easy fix. If it went cheap enough, it could be a great deal.

It would be a great deal if the insurance company hadn't salvaged out the title. I'd love to get hold of one BEFORE the ins co ruined it by screwing up the title.
