Hello all, I have owned my 92 VFR now since 2000. I rarely ride any more since I had a back operation after leaving Iraq in 04 with a fractured L-4. Anyway after my Doc. told me not to ride for a couple of years I decided to disassemble the bike and get the parts I needed to make it 100%. Well I'm a car guy, easily side tracked by my 4 wheeled WS6 and the bike never made it back together 100%. I have a Friend of mine that is interested in buying this bike from me. What would be a fair asking price for a 1992 VFR that needs work ie complete tune up and body work. I have all the body pieces but they need paint as I had started to sand and prime the bike for paint. Mechanically the bike is good.
boy, that's a hard question to answer. I'd say a price that seems fair to both of you that you are both happy with. the bike is gonna need lots of work (probably) to get her back in fighting form. Maybe 1000-1500ish. I couldn't see payin more than that for a bike that might or might not go back together right. If it was me offering to buy it from you, I'd try to keep it below $1000 since I don't really know you, but since he does and (I assume) can trust you, maybe he'll offer a little more.
A few years ago when I was in Germany I was gonna let it go for 1200. I feel bad that I have not finished what I started but I have to face reality and that is that motivation to complete it is 0 due to I know I shouldn't ride. I have one guy that is interested in it and my buddy that said he want's the bike bottom line. I would like to see 1000 but for a friend I could do 800. It's not like I'm riding it. But I don't want to sell myself short. I'm gonna get a new set of plugs for it and get those in this weekend. What plugs are most VFR enthusiasts using these days? Thanks
