Hello all, I'm about to buy my first VFR (I think). I've been riding an 03 SV650 for the last four years and I'm ready for a little more. A friend wants to sell me his mint 99 for a nice price and I just need a little convincing... :grouphug:

well, I dont know about the '99's but a good friend of mine also has an 03 SV 650 that I have ridden. Not sure how a 99 VFR compares to a 03 SV but I will tell you that if you like to be comfortable, ( riding for a few hrs at a time), the VFR is hands down a better machine. He is always telling me that after a long ride his wrists hurt for a while, not sure if its just him or the Ergo's of the SV, but I prefer the ergo's of the VFR better, however if you can keep the SV and still get the VFR I say go for it, VFR's are great bikes!

Thanks guys, yeah I'm gonna buy the VFR. The SV is a great little bike especially for the price of a new one. Nothing but fond memories, but I'm ready.

Buy it. My 5th Gen was a new '99 model. I had 0 complaints with the bike. Besides, since it's a Honda, it will last forever.

Well I did it, bought the '99. Mostly because of this website. And the sound! It has 16k on it. It has the Corbin seat, a Vance & Hinds slip-on, & Heli-bars. Any must have add-ons or problems to look for? The voltage regulator and battery were just replaced. I haven't ridden it since I bought it, we still have snow here in MA.
