To add to your last paragraph.

I have yet to hear a loyal Honda purchaser act like the neanderthal loyal Harley purchaser. I think that's the big difference.

    Glad you like the quote.

    I've victimized a few people with it:smile:

Having been marginally involved in supplying a few film props (see the new Rambo film for an example), I can tell you that more than a few decisions are made on the overall look of the product, not the function- and actually, it is only relatively recently that money has become a big factor.

Take Beretta pistols and John Woo for instance- functionally, generally crap pistols, but they have a look that the director likes.

Nah, it's because they look and feel just like the red rubber ones they practice with.

Every watch "24"? New hand guns every season.

How about an HK, now there's a good looking gun.

Ha ha, you've obviously never worked at a Honda dealer during a Gold Wing Wing Ding... some of them are just a goody-two-shoes version of the Harley rider!

I think on the new Terminator series there is a scene with an older VF. I've only seen the 1 second clip so I cant be sure. If you check out the older Jackie Chan films-all in native tongue, there are lots of Asian Bikes represented.

Sorry for being off topic here.
Mind you, I did say "some," but with 10,000 Wingers, "some" can be quite a few. Overall, most were great.

Typical Harley: "I have expensive bike, want obnoxious pipes."
"Some" Wingers: "I have expensive bike, want obnoxious lights."
Typical Harley: Spent so much on bike, can't afford real riding gear.
"Some" Wingers: Spent so much on bike, wants everything else deeply discounted.

Also, is it usual to go to a big meet like that and expect the only small dealer to have every possible accessory and part that may have been forgotten or broken on hand:confused:
