only been riding since last summer, but here's my list:

    1) 79 Suzuki GS1000. Needed a cheap bike to start riding on. Big mistake. Not that the GS isn't a good bike, but this was a POS I only paid $1000 for and overpaid at that. Lasted a month or two until something in the transmission went south and locked the rear wheel. Thankfully I was only doing 20 at the time, but that scared the crap out of me. It went to a bike scrap yard where I got $80 for it. The whole experience almost soured me off bikes completely, but then my buddy who took the MSC with me finally manned up and bought himself a bike, which led me to my next ride...

    2) 03 Suzuki SV650S. my buddy bought himself an 04 SV650N and threw me the keys. i loved the bike and it fit me OK, so i looked on craigslist and found a smokin' deal. the guy i bought it from is a very active member in the SoCal riding community and invited me and my buddy to join in on some of his 'back-country' rides he organized. what a blast! i loved everything about that bike: awesome handling, great power, lots of low-end torque, decent MPG, cheap and easy to work on, and it looked good (copper color. wanted to get the lower fairings, but never got around to it). unfortunately, i found myself a little sore after some of those backcountry rides, so i started to casually keep an eye open for a smokin' deal on something that would allow me to stretch out a little. lo and behold, while perusing craigslist AGAIN around midnight one night when i stumbled on my latest ride

    3) 04 Interceptor non-ABS. i had eye-balled the Interceptors ever since an anniversary edition caught my eye at the local shop. i fit SUPER-well, but just couldn't see myself shelling out the $$$. (actually, i had always figured my next ride would be a V-Strom just because the SV had turned me on to Suzuki's v-twin, but after seeing the general demographic the bike had, i was somewhat turned off.). i stumbled across the deal of the century on a used VFR. convincing the wife was tough, but when i showed her just how good of a deal it was and 'promised' to use it as a commuter vehicle to offset my cage's MPG (2004 GTO), i got her to cave in. the SV went to a good buddy of mine who just started riding and realized he was too big to start on the Ninja500 he had purchased. he still throws me the keys every once in a while just for the heck of it. i miss the agility of the bike, but always appreciate the smoothness and comfort of the VFR afterwards.

so there's my long boring story.

    Mike

    Hmm...where to start...let's see..

First bike was a 197x Honda Trail 90 w/ the automatic transmission and the dual gearbox (you could climb a wall with that thing if you could balance)

Second, a 197x CB200. A great little bike to learn on (especially with the duct tape'd headlamp!)

Third, my grandfather's 1971 T-500 Titan. (My grandmother made him give it up to me after a bad deceleration wobble.) I love that bike, still runs great, and in near mint condition. Probably one of maybe 20 left in the world in perfect condition...

Fourth, a 1991 Honda VFR750F. Fantastic bike...satisfied me for a long time...until I was shopping for gloves at the local dealer and saw...

A 1998 Cherry VFR800FI!! Only 9000 miles on it when I bought it...too good to be true!!

And it was. Not 1000 miles later, the stator caused the reg/rec to go awol and overheat the wiring harness to the point where my bike caught fire!!! Fortunately, I had just gotten off of it, else it would 've been really bad. (Letter to the NTSHA pending)

But the day after I got the insurance check, I went and picked my current 02 VFR 800FA. So far, I love this thing...but due to the weather I haven't gotten to really play much...

    I think that covers it...

Is it "He who dies with the most toys wins", or is it

"He who had the most toys wins"?

 I'm not going to remember them all, I have a hard enough time remembering what I have now

I have close to 20 now :)frown: sold some) but have been on a buying spree lately, But have owned more than 100 & that's probably actually closer to 200 (hey I wasn't married for a loooong time so I had money  ).

Of that count of bikes is including minibikes & quads.

Slo1's has had & has a good chunk of bikes, I'd like to see his list

Here goes. Not sure I can remember them all.

    1. Vespa 150 Scooter 1960's
    2. Honda CB175 1973
    3. Yamaha RD350 1973
    4. Suzuki T500 1971
    5. Yamaha TX650 1973
    6. Yamaha 750 Triple
    7. Suzuki GS750GS 1977
    8. Yamaha TX750
    9. Suzuki TS400
    10. Yamaha XT500

Long break from 1985 to 2003 with no bike. All those wasted years mutter mutter mutter.

    11. Kawasaki EX 500 1989
    12. Honda Interceptor 2005

Interesting thing is that in the same time frame I have only owned 5 cars and hated all but one of them. Loved that Mini for the same reason I like bikes. Went round corners great.

love all the two-strokes, never had a GT750 but have been tempted a couple of times. Do you hang out over at USA http://usa2strokers.com/forum/default.asp at all. It is primarily a RD site but still fun if you like old two-strokes.

V4Dan - you need to make fun post threads more often if you can keep this kind of quality / quantity of responses up.

    Lets jog my memory:

    19?? CT90
1980 CB400T, 2ea. (very good beginner bikes, but too easy to put the cam back in 180 degrees out of phase ;-)
1976 CB400F (wish I still had) (Is there a limit to how high this bike can rev? I think not!)
1987 CB700 Nighthawk (she was nice, chicks liked it)
1990 KTM 250 (wish I still had) (wish I would have actually won a moto on it)
197? Montessa 440 (glad to see it gone)
1989 600 Fazer (never got me laid)
1983 GL1100 without fairing or bags (definitely never got me laid)
1972 S2 350 Kaw (wish I still had) (wish crankshafts were cheaper)
2000 VFR800 (finally got laid cause of a bike!)

There may have been other bikes, but if it didn't run or I owned it for less than a week, it's not worth listing.

Ok this is a short list due to space and money...

1979 CM400T Honda (First bike) Put track bars on it and rattle canned it it all black. Sold to it a college girl who disappeared after 2 months...

1976 CB750F I've still got this one. LOVE THIS BIKE! Done some serious modifications to boost the handling and looks: CBR F3 front forks, F3 wheels front and back (polished), F3 brakes, F3 clip ons, Raask rear sets, Corbin custom seat, Ducati Scavo Blue paint from the original S4 Monster with white skunk stripes, Kerker pipe. Needs a clutch and rear tire so its temporarily in storage...

    Big Jump!

2005 VFR800I HUGE difference from riding the old bikes. The power, handling and lack of oil drips on the garage floor are amazing. I will ride this bike until it turns to dust!

All Honda! Is it some sort of a disease?

Next year or 2 I plan on owning a Ducati to temporarily break the cycle. I'm eyeing that SuperMotard...

    hmmm...let me think

    let's see...

    5hp mini bike
    1960 something Honda 160
    1981 Kawasaki LTD440
1985 Honda XL100 - stolen twice, fished out of creek the first time. Cleaned it up, changed the fluids, it ran like a bear. Second time it was stolen, they f***ed up the carb, and it never ran right. Cannot remember where it ended up.
    1987 Honda Hurricane
    1995 Kawasaki EX500
    1971 Honda 450
    2003 Honda Shadow Spirit
1977 Yamaha XS 750 Triple - sorry I sold this one.
    and the current bike...

2000 Honda VFR 800. By far my favorite.

I have another list suggestion...how about a list of the bikes you have ever ridden!!!
