Seems I've seen this some where, great reminder what could happen if you don't wear the right gear huh.

 

He looks like the guy I came across on Bear Creek Rd in Contra Costa county, Nor CA back when I first started riding....went down on chip seal at over 70 in nothing more than jeans and an old leather jacket. His derriere looked just like that, except he had extensive abrasions just as bad up and down both legs....his jeans literally looked like a shark had gotten ahold of them; they were completely blown apart like they were tissue paper. I was wearing my leather Hein Gericke pants (and jacket, of course) that day and have worn full gear every time ever since. The EMTs were taking him to the burn ward. That memory will never fade....

 

I'll bet he locks the barn after the horse is gone too!

 

Eghads man! That's why I don't understand why Icon doesn't put anything in the seat of their recon jeans....

just got my alpinestars track pants yesterday to zip into my GP Plus Leather jacket. No skid marks for me!!!!

I have never worn just jeans. And if I did, I NEVER went down and got scraped up. Well, maybe I did both once. But I did NOT look like that poor fellow. Mine was quite minor. Now, I always put on my spendy Dainese leathers. Who knows...I just might run into Manuela Arcuri sometime and she'll dig my Italian style.:wink:

I bet the novelty of it wore off in a few days when the pain set in.

I had a pretty good BMX bike accident when I was 14. I still remember the road rash and pain from that and I was only doing maybe 10mph!!!

The pain doesn't really come on until a day or so goes by...then the pain gets worse for days! (I have had the worst road rash from bicycling. Lycra evaporates even quicker than jeans! I could always get my girlfriend the nurse to almost faint by taking the scrub brush to the rash. If done early on, it didn't hurt too much but it did get the small rocks out!)

 

I bet they got pills that can fix that... The stupity I mean.

 

He won't be wearing his "Daisy Duke" shorts for awhile.
