    It isn't that we don't care :)

So, cost is a consideration unless you are Bill Gates. I just bought a new set of Fieldsheer gear. It ain't perfect, but it's pretty cheap. I think I would buy Rukka if $$$ were not a consideration. As it is, I paid about 210 bucks for a full Fieldsheer outfit from my brother's shop. If it only lasts 3-4 seasons, that's still pretty darned cheap.

Two options for the price conscious -

Fieldsheer Cyclone (can be had now on motorcyclecloseouts.com for $199 shipped!). I have had this one for 4 years now and no problems.

Teiz (new company) motorsports has the Lombard for $344 shipped. teizms.com

I like First Gear's new TPG/d30 armor. I have seen it demostrated. I think it's the coming standard of protection and it's going to make riding gear a LOT less bulky.

I bought a pair of Aerostitch Darien pants and never been happier. I converting from my BMW F650GS to my new 1997 VFR (bought three days ago!!). I live in Seattle and commute 42 miles a day (both ways). I ride year round and experience weather that would make even the most expert rider pull their seat out of their ass. My Darien pants are rock solid...no water, not even dampness. They are a little cold, but I usually throw on some under-armour nylon pants, then jeans, then my dariens and I can ride in cold rainy weather all day long. So far this year, my darien's have seen 23 degree winter mornings and 38 degree torrential downpours. They are awesome!!! Also, the REv'it (sorry for the bad spelling) pants are supposed to be good, but the guy I know who owns them is a fair weather rider...
