Well this is my first type of "just for fun" thread. For reminiscent sake, I think everyone likes to talk about how many they've had and what they were. My first was a 1980 Honda CMT 200 in 1990, petite and light she was an excellent beginner. I moved on quickly, one year later, to a Honda Rebel 250 circa 1986 but rode her a little too hard and put the chain through the case of the motor, bummin, I next moved on to a 1981 Honda CB550 my first in-line 4 she was powerful and nimble but heavy. Then came my obsession and lust for the sport bikes, sexy, slim, and powerful. A friend Had just gotten a 1992 Honda CBR 600 and I didnt expect what came next. He threw me the keys and without saying anything else to me, smiled, I was in heaven, like poetry in motion. I remember that day, time and feeling like it was yesterday, anyway I was hook, line and sinker in love.... Oh... yeah, back to the point so then I went and bought one of those Yami ysr 50 cc, piped it put boyesen reeds and had some fun on it, then I bought a 87 Honda VFR 750 F2, pearl white,w cobra F1R slip ons and a corbin saddle that was a great but expensive year, tickets, fines yadda yadda. fast forward 7 yrs, after my first was born I had some growing up to do myself, I went and bought a 86 kawi 454 Ltd, just to get back in the swing of things again. Traded in the 454 for a Kawi Concours, straight up, at a local dealer, they liked it for its beginnersness. Sold the connie and bought a Yami SECA 2 piped and jetted, K&N filter,DID O-Ring chain she was fun and I could throw her around easily. So here we are now with an 86 VFR 700. Thats 5 Hondas, 2 Kawi's, and 2 Yami's. I have pictures of them all as if they were my kids! I, personally, like to reminisce now and then and think about the ones I once had.

Well, I used to ride my brother's 1985 FJ600 here and there. If we are talking only "street" bikes that we owned, then I picked up an 1989 FZR600 thrashed thru a field by a friend of one of my brothers'. He was trying to outrun the po-po, and apparently (his account) was doing a buck 10, and came up on a hair-pin corner....tossed the bike, and himself, thru the field. My brother was the one who picked him up at about 3am with a truck. Threw the ole girl in the back. Anyways, he replaced the forks, gas tank, and bought unpainted bodywork for it. I gave him around $1500 for it. Had about 8000 miles on it. Painted her up, got her working, and she was good to me (and my brother later on, who sadly pulled an insurance job on it to get money from it). Next was a 1987 FZR1000 I picked up for $2500. I can remember the first time I rode that bike. WOW....she was a "rocket!" Fastest thing in the world to me. I bought it in 1996 and just sold it in 2006 on Craigslist to some local dude. Man, I sure do miss that ole girl sometimes. She was fast (heavy too) loads of torque, and she was a sleeper...as my brother's friend painted it all black with no decals and it kinda looked like an FZR600 to the untrained eye. Wasn't the best of anything, but she sure did make me smile! In november of 2006, about 2 weeks before I parted with the FZR, I picked up the viffer 800 from a guy north of me. Had saddlebags and aftermarket exhaust, plus he game me a tank bag, some grips and stuff, and I gave him $4600. Doesn't matter if that was too much, cause I fell in love with her.

Oh yeah, before all of them there was the ole Suzie TS90, but that is a whole 'nother story!

Of course my two favorites are the ones I own at this time. Just returned from the Cycle World show in Cleveland and because I am so content with my current bikes will probably not buy any more at this time. Must admit I am waiting to see what Honda has to offer us in 09' for the VFR. CIRV

only been riding about 5 years so pretty fresh in memory

    95 kawasaki zzr 250
02 VTR 1000 firestorm ( in US called nighthawk?) great sound and talk first biggy!
    05 VFR 800
05 CBR 1100xx (nice bike would have kept if i could have 2)
06 suzuki gsx 1300r Hayabusa ( still have, selling for VFR)

08 VFR 800 candy glory red sitting in shop waiting for me:wink:

unfortunately very costly exercise finding what you really like. Was always curious about the bigger bikes but they are just not practical for what i use it for. Always regreted selling first VFR only had put 5k kms from new when i traded for BBird.

I dont think it matters how many bikes one has had, this is more for fun, its more about the sport and the love of it, but damn, some of you guys are hardcore junkies!! LOL. ( I have to admit though, some of the lists here are impressive)

    70's Honda 70
    1975 Honda CL360
1984 VF500F Interceptor (1st new bike, reason why I traded '04 VFR for RWB since it reminded me of the 500)
    1892 Kawasaki 750 Spectre
1981 Honda XR500 (working break light and licensed for street use by previous owner)

No bikes for about 18 years

    2005 Kawasaki Z1000
2006 Kawasaki Meanstreak (still have, love this bike)*
    2006 Triumph Speed Triple 1050
    2007 Triumph Tiger 1050
    2008 Kawasaki Councours 1400 (totaled)
    2004 VFR 800 Interceptor (temporarily replaced C14)
2007 VFR 800 Int. RWB (permanently replaced C14)*
2006 Honda CRF250X (picked up 1/27/08 so as to ride with grand children and try and keep up. Grand kids not riding yet, will not be ready for a couple of years. Bike was brand new at dealer for $3,999, which is 60% of MSRP, I could not pass it up)*

    * STILL in the stable.

Next one I am hoping will be a Honda ST1300, should have been the one I purchased over the C14, but I let the ZX14 motor hype get the better of me.

I see you currently own a VFR800 and a R1200RT. In my opinion that is the perfect combination for the street (at least it is for an old fart like me). It is the combo that I am working toward. I am currently shopping for a gen 5 and hopefully in three or four years the prices of 05 and 06 RTs will be low enough that I can sell my R1100R and trade up.
