What is the black thing on the sprocket? I've never seen this on the new bike.

    Thanks,

Do you mean that lower chain guard?? A bit of fancy GP race kit, preventing parts of rider getting injured if rider cannot get away from bike as they both slide down the track......fingers and toes possible victims.

Otherwise, you're seeing black paint on cushdrive cover.

Yes I think I am talking about the 'cushdrive' cover. I wonder why it's not present in the other picture. Take a look. Any speculation why they would take it off? If you look real close at the first picture it looks like a cover and this picture below it looks like the cover is off.

Looks to me like paint only. The first picture has the swingarm and cushdrive cover painted black. The picture of the RWB in the showroom shows those parts in their normal natual aluminum color. They are silver on my bike. Where did the first picture come from?

Actually looking again, that first picture isn't a 6th gen VFR, it's something else. Obviously a honda since the setup looks the same. But not new VFR.

The gizmo is a carbon fibre cush drive cover sold by Triumph. Their website lists/pictures it as an accessory for their model year 2007 Speed Triple with the single sided swingarm--which I'm 99% sure is the bike shown in the first photograph in this thread.

The first picture is of a Trimph, either the Speed Triple, Tiger or ST.
