Okay, I want to know what you folks do to keep your sanity during the winter months. After yesterdays get out and about, Man I'm not sure If I can take waiting for the good weather, as today another cold front is moving through dumping a ton of wet stuff.

I go in the chat room when no one else is there and type encouraging messages to myself.

You never cease to amaze me Noz!

I've been spending just about every cent I saved during the summer on mods I'd been planning for the last three months and then performing the necessary surgery required to get them all installed. Luckily, I still have some more cash, because the winter still has a ways to go until it's over and I still have a few more things I need to get done.

    Withdrawals

What is this "withdrawal" thing you speak of? I guess the weather here is not condusive to "withdrawal" illness. I went for a shakedown cruise last weekend to fine tune the new USD forks and Ohlins shock on my 93. Feels great cruising around in 70 F weather, clear skies, light wind, light traffic.

Even got in a little work time in the garage on the RC211V replica.

God, love Texas winter. Not too damn hot to work in the garage.

Wonder what happening in NY right now. Funny, thats where my Corporate offices are. Sorry, couldn't resist.

    Larry

Please don't hate me cause I'm beautiful, OH, thats the weather.

    Keep what?

Had a nice week weather wise, 40s and 50s up here in New Hampshire. Needed about 3 more days of weather like that so the mountian of snow at the edge of the road would melt and I could push the bike out of the basement and across the backyard for a days ride. Today? Another f$%#ing foot of snow! I'm gonna go depress myself and count hte number of days till April. CRAP!

I bought a 46" LCD and am watching "24" on DVD with my wife each evening. We have never watched the series and have a good bit of catching up to do. We started season two this weekend.
The upgrade in the TV had made it necessary to modify my AV furniture, so the VFR sits, sprinkeld with saw dust awaiting the chain and sprockets she gets this winter.
When there's no riding, there's plenty of sawdust to be made, mods and maintenance to be done, reading to catch up on, home projects to complete, tax info to be gathered and documented, dog walks to be taken, dog turds to be shoveled, truck maintenance to check off, Salvation Army clean-up runs to be made, daughter activities to attend, natatorium visits to be made, blah blah blah.
I don't have to branch out too far to eat up all my saddle time.
Unfortunately, it happens too often in-season too.

I order special bike tools occasionally, knowing that I'll be using them soon. Vigorous exercise in the morning seems to help, and a decent cigar in the evening to prevent me from getting too healthy.

And I talk to myself a lot, but not out loud, because I don't want to disturb the cats. And there are always the voices for company.

    Uuhh, wait...

    Never mind!

Being a Washington rider, I try to get all my special wifey projects out of the way, this year it's been crown molding through out the house and two completely redone bathrooms and recessed lighting in the the kitchen, me and the wife have a understanding when the riding season starts, if it's going to be good weather, most likely hubby won't be around.

Even though I still ride in the winter, it's not even close as the same adrenaline rush I get when the roads are clean and dry, This year I'm REALLY looking forward to getting out and testing the outer edge's of tires...

I get a little misty every once in a while too. <sniff>.

BUT, now is the time to plan those weekend and weeklong trips for the upcoming riding season! I'm looking at taking a tour around the Eastern States this summer. Not the same as riding however you do get to plan the days, sights, stops and ultimately, the adventure!

    Come On Spring!!!

I've got my heated gear and can get out as long as it isn't rainig or snowing here. We haven't had much snow in Pa, where I'm am, that has stuck around this winter so the roads have been dry a good bit of the time. I got out this past weekend on Saturday and Sunday. In fact I've gotten out almost every weekend since I got my bike. That was back in late October. I've managed to put 3500 miles on her already. So I guess I can't complain.

If you're really hard up, head out to YouTube, or Yahoo Video and do a search on VFR. There's a good amount of stuff out there that puts you in the saddle Virtually!

I get out each weekend as long as it isn't raining. We get some serious fog this time of year so I let it burn off before I head out. The roads in the hills are usually wet in the shady areas and sometimes have been sanded so caution is in order. Also, a heated liner and gloves makes it comfy. The Northern California climate is good for year round riding fortunately.
